If you're looking for a pure horror game, don't buy anything from Dead Space or Resident Evil series. They're basically just shooters with jumpscares and clunky controls for the "panic effect".
Sad to admit, but the new definition for "survival horror" seems to have become "Shooter with less ammo and mosters".
if you can deal with really bad ports then theres the silent hill hd collection
tho seriously, you might as well just get pc stuff, theres some great horror games on steam, like gender bender dna twister extreme
