So yesterday I learned about Japanese superstitions, and some of them are.. kinda weird, not gonna lie xD

SOME EXAMPLES:
~Your flu is cured if you contaminate someone else.
~If you whistle in the night, either a snake will come out or you will be abducted.
~If you hiccup 100 consecutive times, you will die.
~If you don't finish your bowl of rice during every meal, you will go blind.
~If you hear thunder, hide your belly button or else the god of thunder will eat it.
~If you leave your fan on all night, you will die the next day.

Anyway, so what are your favorite superstitions? They could be from your own country or somewhere foreign :3

I used to leave my fan on all night all the time.

In some ethnic minorities in China, they force the girls to dress as boys and the boys to dress as girls when little so as to "fool the spirits into kidnapping girls instead of boys"... Yeah... kinda interesting though

To be fair we in the west don't exactly have the most logical sounding ones (break a mirror and you are cursed for seven full years).

One that I just discovered is that Carlos Menem, former president of Argentina, was so terrible at his job that he led to an economic collapse. And so many negative coincidences happened around him (from deaths to lost matches, etc) that he's believed to be a living curse. His name is to never be mentioned in conversation. On the chance that it is, women in the group will touch their left breast and men their left testicle in an attempt to ward off any bad luck.

Basically, Menem is Argentina's Voldemort.

I was in a play and I picked up some interesting superstitions:
Saying "good luck" before a performance is bad luck.
Using a real mirror for a play is bad luck.
