Other than being a collector/completist, speaking purely from a gameplay perspective, is there any point in having this trap when we already have the Ultimate Kaos Trap from the Dark Edition? Do they do anything differently in game?

Luckily I found it in-store at Target. Toys R Us didn't have them at all, but they did have all the Wave 2 traps.

I would say the advantage seems to be in traps remembering upgrades. This way you can have upgraded Kaos in the ultimate trap, and regular Kaos in the regular trap. Still related to aesthetics, but has some in-game repercussions as well.

These aren't worth a penny more than the list price. These will be flooding store shelves very soon. Scalpers must not mind making a very small return on their investments if they think they can make money reselling a trap...or any of the wave 1 or 2 figures for that matter. All the wave 1 figures are readily available on Amazon and the variants at TRU.com and Target.com.

People are selling upside-down packaged Traps for an arm and a leg, I don't think every single scalper realizes what's actually rare or a variant before making it super expensive and hoping someone buys it while it's not common.

Is there a market for upside down packaging? Doesn't seem like there would be, I saw two traps like that and left them on the shelf.

0.1% of people will think factory error packaging is worth something although 99.9% will see it as defective junk. It happens with every hobby. Traps are useless in their packaging as the game won't detect them unlike figures, so I tend to believe the market for upside down traps is non-existent...but it certainly won't stop scalper schmucks from listing them on EBay for inflated prices. Report back once you actually see them sell on EBay. On a side note, I bought my first trap yesterday and I estimate that they cost less than 50 cents to make. Activision has definitely found the cheapest way to squeeze a few extra bucks out of us with this new game. One trap of each element seems to be the smartest way to go.
