With this early release of Wave 2 we already have 63 different package configurations for TT plus the Starter Pack, the Dark Starter Pack and the handheld Starter Pack. I've been to 8 stores today and have nowhere near everything because of seemingly random distribution. I picked up all of DI 2.0 at one store with zero headaches on launch day.

What in particular? Traps seem VERY problematic to me especially if considering a smaller outlet. TRU or bust for me as a result. It's worth the extra charge to remove the hassle, which is lessened by their sales.

RIP GhostRoaster. He's reanimated as TakeYourLemons but occasionally is resurrected from the beyond when needed.

Trap Masters were non existent in multiple stores, 2 EB Games had countless Gear Shift but almost no other trap masters. Both TRUs I visited didn't get either Legendary pack. One Target did not have Outlaw Brawl and Chain, not even for preorders. Traps were hit and miss. Wave 2 did not exist at all.

My TRU also failed to have any Legendary starters on the shelf. I didn't find this out or realize it until the following day when I opened them and failed to find the certificates inside and then checked on here to find out that the boxes were supposed to have a sticker specifically labeling them as "Legendary." I've got a full set, though, so it's no worry to me, but I imagine a lot of parents/kids have been disappointed by the inconsistent distribution through TRU locations after they were advertised as being available everywhere on day 1.

My TRU had all of Wave 1 and 2 out, but they didn't have a single Legendary Nightmare Express.

The Triple Packs were completely absent from Target and Walmart.

My Toys R Us had no Legendary Jawbreaker, Gearshift or mobile Starter Packs out. Had to wait almost 40 minutes for them to find everything, but managed to snag Wave 2 traps they had put out early.

Went to two TRU , 1 bestbuy and 1 Target: In order of going to.

TRU 1: Had all wave 1 and wave 2 stuff at 8:20 We only bought the trap masters and traps as we lacked the funds atm for core-landers (disney infinity money) Kaos single traps were here but I choose to skip him for now as we were getting a dark edition. This store did have a midnight release.

Target 1: Was stocking the shelf when we got there, only had 360 dark editions which the guy went to the back for. Bought the ball and chain traps and the nitro king (canceled online orders after check out) Store had a few traps and at least 2 of every guy but no wallop which looks to me as just one box of them and someone got the only wallop. Had all versions of regular game.

TRU 2: I got to around 9:45. Only found wave 1 but no legendary adventure packs at all. We went here looking for another wallop which we found the last 1 of. Only a few traps there.

Bestbuy: Went to around 1:00ish after we had a late breakfast/lunch. They had a few of everything and had their traps in order on pegs which made it easier to find them. Had no dark editions

Target 2: Had a mix of everything wave 1 but no triple packs at all. Did have dark editions for wii thou.

I hit my local TRU 5 min before the doors opened, my daughters and I were the only ones there. This was probably due to another store about 30 min away having one of only 2 midnight openings in the entire state of VA. We grabbed all the Trap Masters, both 3 packs of corelanders, legendary and regular versions of Nightmare Express and the legendary Jaw Breaker. They had plenty of Dark Starters for all systems, tons of storage items and apparently a ton of Swap Force leftovers. They did NOT have Gear Shift or the Kaos Traps. All in all though a decent stop.

I left the Dark Starter because I had preordered it from Target along with Nitro Crypt King. Something I will never ever ever ever ever ever do again for a Sunday release. I did pick up a preorder card the last day before they pulled them in a grasping effort to try and upgrade to a Dark Starter in store to get the preorder bonus. That idea was quickly squashed at both Targets that I visited as neither of them had received any Dark Starters for the Xbox One. So I grabbed the Outlaw B&C trap and a Nitro Crypt King and went on my way.

The next stops were the really only thing that didn't suprise me all day. Both Walmarts were completely devoid of Trap Team merchandise. Inside Walmart you would never have known that Trap Team had just been released. This has become commonplace at my local Walmarts for everything video game related. They are completely ignorant of release dates and make zero effort to have anything on the shelf when its supposed to be, whether it be Skylanders, Infinity or any other anticipated gaming releases (save for consoles themselves I guess).

The one thing at WalMart that was very, very interesting was at the front of the store there was a promotional sign with the minis on it. It something about find the minis scattered throughout the store for additional content. My 2 year old daughter was cranky at this point and I didn't have time to investigate, especially figuring that no one on staff would have any idea what the hell I was talking about anyway, so I left it. I'll take a picture of the sign on my way home tomorrow to see if anyone else saw it and knows more about it.

Finally the adventure came to somewhat of a close today when I checked the order status of my Dark Starter and it listed that it would arrive sometime between Tuesday and Friday. Not taking a chance on them messing it up and sending me one for the wrong system or nothing at all, I ordered one from Best Buy which had it in stock. Since I have a Gamers Club Unlocked membership the Dark Starter only cost me 79.99. Had I known this originally it would have been the go to move for sure all along. After some trade ins I also grabbed all of the minis and received a Lava Eruptor figure. Now whenever the order from Target arrives it'll go back for a refund and a lesson learned.

The only thing left is wave 2, which the guy in the R Zone this afternoon at TRU confirmed they had in the locked room street dated for tomorrow. I'll be there when the door opens and hopefully close the book on this chapter of collecting.
