So... as much as I like the aesthetics of the Trap Team packaging this go-around, I am not a fan of the traps. The lack of an ability to actually use them is sad, but the design of the package that prevents you from standing them up or even stacking them reasonably is worse. There's no good way to store these. :(
What are my fellow in-package collectors doing with them?

my local ebgames had a cardboard tray on the counter that the traps were standing in, there was enough space between them that you could see the one behind.
the trap masters have a similar problem don't they, i can't remember what the base was like, whether its flat or round, but i remember thinking that it would be hard to display them hanging, there is a couple of displays I've seen that basically have a wall of pegboard with all the packs hanging on the wall, rather than them sitting on a shelf.

Naw, the Trap Masters to shelve pretty well.
I might have to see if I can sweet-talk my way into one of those trays. |

The figure shapes surprisingly do allow for stacking sideways, as that is how they are shipped. However for those buying traps and want to use them you are going to have to open them. I'm ditching the whole idea of keeping mine "in box" as I'm no longer buying duplicates, so my outlay this year will decrease at least another 50% as a result.

Yeah, I had originally planned to buy duplicates of all the SWAP figures so I could open a set, but went the opposite direction of you and just bought one set and kept them in the box (but have some duplicates as a result). The SWAPping mechanic just didn't bring much to the game for me to make it worth buying everyone twice.
For using the traps, I might buy a spare of each element early on so that I can can play as all the villains - but I figure that they'll end up in second-hand stores pretty cheap by the end of this, so I'm not too worried about getting more later if I want. |
