It's really bad they don't have backstories. You can only watch the videos of the newlanders

REALLY sucks. I loved having the backstories. It was like having a giant Skylander encyclopedia! Alternatively, I've always wished each figure came with a bio card as well. Or each new game included a bio book.

Although I am still excited for this game, it's honestly annoying to hear how many of the VV improvements TfB blatantly ignored during development. I enjoyed having the backstories right from the collection menu as well.
It seems like instead of taking the time to observe the improvements in Swap Force and implementing them into the game, they just went straight back to the SSA/Giants engine and did it how THEY wanted... I didn't even see an option for watching videos in the Collection menu on the tablet demo.(unless it's like Swap Force, where you need to find the Soul Gem first to unlock the video)

I hope there's some serious lessons learned on honoring and observing some of the favorite things customers asked for and got in the last entry to ensure some of those things move forward. TfB, I know you're watching this, so take heed.

RIP GhostRoaster. He's reanimated as TakeYourLemons but occasionally is resurrected from the beyond when needed. |

If you are sad about the backstories, then you are going to be even more disappointed when you see the effort they put into the scrolls you collect. No artwork, no story, only a sentence averaging about 10 words. Really feels like an afterthought. Seriously, I looked forward to those because there tended to be humor in them.

I know! All of the scrolls are just dumb Flynn sayings (not that I don't like Flynn, but why did they think we'd want that over an ACTUAL story?) And I thought TfB was supposed to be good with this kind of stuff...

TfB really phoned in the scrolls. They should be embarrassed about that.

Question: Any way to view previously collected items like scrolls?

My personal thoughts on this is that TfB seems to have copied a lot of their code from Giants in regard to character recognition in the Collection screen, as they stopped recognizing multiple special variants of the same figure. For example, I have Eye Brawl, Pumpkin Eye Brawl and a metallic Purple Eye Brawl. In Giants (coded by Tf, only 2 of the 3 are recognized. In Swap Force (coded by VV), all 3 are recognized; additionally, the only thing not recognized (but added in anyway) was the Platinum Treasure Chest (due to not having a different RFID code from the original version). In Trap Team, I'm back to 2 of 3 for Eye Brawl, Fright Rider (normal, GITD & Pumpkin), etc.
I understand that different companies coded each game, but you'd think that TfB would go through the effort of making sure that everything that had been successfully included in the previous entry would be included in the newest game as well. I'm having fun with Trap Team but can't say that I haven't been disappointed in a lot of little things that, in my opinion, should never have been overlooked. -Doug
