Anyone remember back last year with Swap Force when we saw all those cool new variants we'd never heard of before? Enchanted Hoot Loop/ Star Strike, Nitro Magna Charge, Kickoff Countdown, etc.

What do we get this year?

A Nitro, three darks and, three legendaries. That's pitiful especially considering how fun variants were to hunt down and they made your collection feel unique. Does anyone think there will be more? If you have any ideas for new variants I'd love to hear them.

You do know that they almost never officially reveal them all at once, right? We could still have more coming.

I know but it's still very little compared to last year.

Of course there are going to be more. Those are just the ones we know about. In the past, we've never known about all of the variants until the game actually comes out and someone looks at all the data on the disc. I'm sure we'll get several new variants along with some more holiday themed ones, most likely.

If we don't see new holiday ones after the game is released and the hackers have done their thing, then I'll bummed. Not too worried right now, though.

The 3DS version might have the variant Skylanders, much like its predecessors.

I would love seasonals again. A jolly fist bump would be cool.

The guide listed a few of the variants too. We will probably know of a few more the day that's released and then the hackers will follow up with the rest I'm sure.

They're the worse things to come out of Skylanders.

I'm weary of variants. I'm sure they'll show their ugly face on Trap Team soon enough, but don't you have enough to buy in this game already to be satisfied?

I just like how fun the are to drive around town and find. You dont need them but they feel unique and you get bragging rights. I usually skip the normal version of some characters in hopes of a variant

She's saying that the 3ds version might have the variants in it's game files.

The only real difference this year versus last in the variant department was that very early on (though I believe it was AFTER release, once people got their hands on the 3DS codes), but we learned about the seasonal variants, Quickstrike Rattleshake, and that was pretty much it. There was the 3DS Eruptor variant *shrug*, but we knew that when SF was first announced. Same with the Nitro characters...

By next week I figure we'll know if they plan on doing the seasonal variants again, who the second Nitro character is (guessing Tuff Luck, but purely a guess).
