With the game coming out in out a little more then a week (or in a little bit less then 4 days in Australia) I am surprised at the lack of info. Especially surrounding the mystery villians and the Sun/Moon skylanders.

Ever heard of a surprise? And after Chapter 12 footage and other stuff I forced myself to skip, we have actually plenty of story info by now.
Sure, we're lacking on information about mechanics, but in general there's not a lack quantity of info anymore.

Yeah, even the information that everyone wanted a few months ago is kind of useless to put in an interview. Australians are getting the game in less than 4 days, US is getting it in less than a week. If you waited an entire year you can wait that amount of time.

We had a discussion about this a couple of weeks ago *sigh*

Teal deer: They may be giving us Skylander and story info, but some of us whining about the lack of info want to know about how things like Heroics appear in TT and wether there are extra modes aside from Kaos Mode, not just story and character details. We'd like to know if extra modes are still in and what's up with Quests and Heroics so we can make a more informed purchase instead of having to buy the game to see that. It's bad that we only learned about PVP being cut this month...

I like the surprises. I purposely avoid watching the trailers for the characters and any gameplay footage. I'm surprised more hasn't been leaked about the light/dark elements though.

I'm not going to try and make a big deal out of it because I think it's not, but doesn't matter? Really? The game's coming out on the 2nd here, and that stuff I mentioned is making me seriously consider wether I should get the game at all since I'd probably hardly replay it. I'd rather just know if that content is in or out, so I can decide wether to waste time on buying and beating the game and having to check for it.

Maybe I'm just in a whiny mood, which wouldn't really be surprising. :/ I hope someone manages to get the game before release and clarifies those.

What lack of info? There's way too much info flowing through these forums and on YouTube. I've avoided it because I want to see what the game has in store as I play it. I still value the element of surprise when I delve into a video game. What is it that you really want? Do you want to know every last thing about the game before release? Maybe I'm in the minority, but I prefer that video game companies withhold game info and let the real buzz spread via word of mouth and reviews after the game release...a quality video game product will sell itself as video games have for the past 30 years or so.

this discussion keeps happening over and over lol, and i'll add to it again.

There is a big difference between character information and story and plot stuff, which we have plenty of and don't really need any more of, and information on actual game mechanics, stuff like heroics and figure quests, extra modes like kaos mode, time attack or points, trap forwards compatibility, things that effect the re-playability and longevity of the game.
we know the story is good. we know the characters look good and have cool attacks, the [?] can stay hidden, they aren't needed to make an informed purchase. What we don't have is actual information on the actual game itself.

Don't worry, it's far from whiny, even more compared to some other users here.
But I'm not talking about 'it shouldn't matter and they shouldn't do it' kind of thing, I mean that a week goes fast really quickly, even more if the street date is broken, and that even if TFB dragged a youtuber to their office to answer all the questions now, we're going to discover about them in 2 days with the australian release or even do so ourselves with the US/Europe release just a bit later anyaway. As in, would be nice if they did that, but it's going to be redundant except for people who'll get the game waay later and don't want to hear it from the fans(or are dodging spoilers like walking in a minefield like me).

Yep, the boat has sailed. We'll find out soon enough...a week worst case. I agree with AoA my requests were never really to see more characters, gameplay videos etc...it was simply the activities post story mode and how upgrading our characters will be supported. I look forward to hearing how this pans out from everyone day one. I'll be on the sidelines waiting.

You'll have all this info within a few days of the game release when the tech whizzes read the data on the game disc. That's the way it worked with Swap Force and that's the way it'll work for the next Skylanders game.

But that's still 90% reveal. Now it's just knowing for the sake of knowing. this akin to knowing the entire movie plot of Star Wars EP 5 before going in...it kinda ruins it all.

Actually, I will disagree with you there. From what I read, the two unannounced Disney characters that they are keeping secret in DI 2.0 are not on the disk. They are supposed to be added to the game later via DLC. If that is true, that would prove you don't need the data on the disk. The missing data can be added onto the HDD via updates.

This is correct, there are SEVERAL cases of things being added to games after they have shipped. A simple example of that outside of DLC would be Patches and Fixes.

Do we really think the question marks are going to remain in the game and on the official poster at launch? That seems like a very big risk. Wouldn't the sight and knowledge of new-element Skylanders drive more sales than keeping quiet until DLC is released? Or do they hope to counter-act buyer's fatigue this way? Argh, I'm just gonna sleep for four days and then find out.

I could be off on this, but I don't think the wii console can do DLC off disk. Since Skylanders considers wii to be an important console for them, I they would alienate wii customers. Besides, since figures take a while to create and get to market, I'm not sure there is value in it other then to thwart hackers.
