What happens if you put one of the NEW Sidekicks in the old games?

Has anyone thought of this? We know the older sidekicks will work, ut what about the new ones like Spry? My guess is one of two.

1. They're not read.

2. They show up as the Skylander they're based on, like put Spry into Swap Force and you get Spyro (Possibly Mega Ram).

My biggest regret of EGX was that I didn't take my Sidekick to try exactly that...

I only got a look at what villains were viewable and the magic items mainly. I looked at a few things (and was recording so you can see once im edited) but I stayed away from the levels to avoid spoilers.

They won't work, because the previous games are not programmed to scan the new minis.

What he said. The new versions of the old ones will show up as those regular sidekicks, but obviously anything that's new wouldn't have existed in the old game. And since the character would be Spry on the chip and not Spyro, they won't show up as their older full sized selves. Would be a nice addition, but possibly more coding than the chip might handle.

The safe assumption is they will work, just function as the sidekicks used to...bumbling and failing to 'follow' you around.
