Has anyone seen the display with the Traptanium Portal in stores yet? I'll be going out to lunch in a bit and was wondering if I should stop by any nearby stores to try it out.

I thought I heard that someone saw the demo today. Plus, they had one in the pop-up shop at Gamescom.

Glad I stopped by Target on my way home, because I saw the demo! The traps and the portal look really cool, and the sound from the traps is high quality!

Sure, I ironically didn't bring my camera this time because I was adamant Target wouldn't have the display up. Next time I'll be sure to take pictures, maybe even a video. However, I may not be back at Target until the 3rd to pick up Smash, so if anyone else goes to try out the demo before me, feel free to take pictures!

I saw the new Trap Team display set up in my local Walmart last night. It is pretty cool. They super glued a water trap into the portal so that you couldn't remove it hahaha. Although the portal is LARGE this time around. I'd say 50% larger than the past portals. The traps do light up and blink with the dialogue of the villain, though it was in demo mode and only one trap was in it.

Yes i went to my local target and they had the display it wasn't on/working but it was the display

I also tried putting Zoo Lou and a few others on the portal, but it still comes up with the Swap Force intros for them.

The cracked glass/ice look is nice. Can't wait to see it for myself.

The size is an interesting issue for me this time around. Especially for those planning on buying multiple starters. Do we know if the console portals are interchangeable? Would one portal work on all console systems or are they specific again? I'd probably sell off the extra portals. The look is really neat, but it's sooooo much larger which will make storage and transportation a pain. Also, they've indented the surface this time, so I hope there are no conflicts with placing 2 larger figures side by side on the portal without them falling off or fitting properly haha.

Where's the logic in that? There are special bigger portals in display instead of, dunno, the easy route for every store to rip open a Starter Pack and put it there?Doesn't sound very true.

I had posted this morning that my Target had the demo portal out with a water trap stuck in it. I wasn't a fan of the lighting effect though since it only seemed to light up near the trap speaker. Hopefully that was just on the model in this Target. I took pictures, but I don't have anywhere to upload them.

Go to a Swap Force demo kiosk and tell me the portals are the same size as in the starter pack.

I remember seeing the swap force portal at Target and being able to fit a packaged Giant on it with plenty of room. I was excited for the huge portal, and then when I got my starter it was clearly much smaller.

Sure, buy me plane tickets to the US. I've only seen the ones in the book stores I visit and they all open a Starter Pack for the portal, and during the Giants section in a convention here 2 years ago they just used a SSA portal.

Not a playable demo. It's nothing more than what you usually get with the portal that you can check out characters on that they've always had. It's just that this has a trap button to press and it shows a villain getting caught. He goes into the trap and then back on the screen.

The reason for that was because you had to put multiple packaged skylanders on the portal to swap them. The Traptanium portal is normal size.

If any of you can get that data card that works the thing you may be able to find the names of the new Skylanders in the data files.
