I was thinking if I should. But... my dad says If I make good grades, I can get a phone. Hmm... I've wanted Trap Team REALLY badly and have expected to get it. What should I do? This was going to b my last game, but he said he won't get me other games if he gets me a phone. ;-; What should I do?

Totally the phone, you'll regret buying skylanders eventually but not the phone.

Ask yourself if you REALLY need that phone; maybe the improvement isn't worth the price. You could also ask yourself if you really want the game /right/ now,but you probably did that already.
You can always take a third option,though. Get a cheaper phone, buy a loose portal and only the figures you want. Not sure if that's possible, but the loose figures is how I afforded Giants during Christmas.

Personall question, you can PM me if you don't feel like putting it out there, how old are you? If your like 14 or 15, get the phone, then get a job at 16 and then your home free to buy what ever you like. If you like 9-11 go with Trap Team, I didn't get a phone until my last birthday.

What type of phone? If its a crappy phone go with STT but if its a nice phone get it.

My dad completely hates iPhones- Probably because he seen so many commercials and says that thy aren't the best phones, and if he's going to spend a lot of money on a phone, I should get a good one. Galaxy S5. I'm fine with that, I like the Galaxy anyways. I'm 13 btw. I don't really NEED either, so it's a bit of a tough choice. I just know I don't want to regret not choosing Skylanders, because my nephew plays, but his parents just moved into a new house and don't have as much money as we do (my dad was in the military of something) he dosen't get as many Skylanders as me, so it would be different playing at his house. I still can't decide, even though I still have a lot of time

Since your 13, go with skylanders.

Do most of your friends communicate with phones? My friend's never really had phones and if they did they didn't use them much, so I never had the need to ask for an iPhone. But if your friends use phones a lot then I say get the phone. You can always save up money for the game when it goes on sale.

I'm buying it when the starter pack price goes down. I'm going to buy all the figures first though.

There's a bit of parity in phones today. Being a geek and looking at features isn't the way to go about...ask yourself "what's important"...and what do you need one for..for some stability of UI and features might mean more than "infinite but unpredictable" customization.

But honestly....anything you need are produced for both platforms...apps wise not a dime's difference. Phones are more "fashion statements"...personally I'd rather use skype on my PC because I'm always there.

My personal opinion: I can't really justify the monthly costs for a cell phone...if my job no longer pays for my phone i'll have NO PROBLEM not using one. Before you get strapped to a monthly charge make sure you can justify it. If you have a computer or access to one skype can be very cost effective. You can even use it on your phone with WiFi.

I'm really starting to miss POTS.

I say get the phone. While video games are nice and all, a phone can save you in the rare chance you are lost in a place with wifi service.

Talk to him about getting a less expensive phone and Skylanders. There are phones that are a lot cheaper than the GS5 that work just as well and are reliable.

I'd say if you can handle the responsibility, then get the phone. No offense, but why would a thirteen year old need a sg5 anyways? I know we live in a new world where even young kids now have phones, but some kids can't even take care of their Nintendo 3DS's. A phone like that should be entrusted to someone who is completely ready to take the responsibility of a very popular expensive phone and should be aware of how to use one. Not trying to be mean or rude, but honestly the game would be better since you can have fun and the responsibility won't be so overbearing for someone at that age. Now maybe you can handle it and I'm just saying the typical response, but just being honest and wanted to help with a very deep opinion is all. Whatever choice you make, I hope you are happy with the choice you made and have no regrets.

As blunt as GhostRoaster617 is he is right about the level of responsibility a SG5 would need for someone your age. So try talking to your dad about a cheaper phone and see if he would be willing to get both a cheaper phone and trap team.

Thank you for understanding. I mean it has nothing to do with being mean, rude or disrespectful. This is just pure fact and I'd hate to see anyone have such a huge burden at a young age. So this had nothing to do with being mean, it's just a realistic and deep approach to this conflict.

Get a used phone and a black friday starter pack. Or you could get the phone from your dad and skylanders from a relative.

Dunno, different opinions on phones. Mine's one of the cheapest I could find and I still use it to play games and use the internet if I'm not at home, but that's it. I needed a new one since my old phone started to outright not complete any calls, but if I had to choose between a cool videogame which might make my year and an expensive phone with all the bells and whistles, I'd rather get a cheap,but usable phone and keep on saving up for the game.

Dude, just get a Nokia for emergencies. I rarely use my phone and Skylanders will be much more fun xD
