So, latest news is that PvP, a series staple, will not be returning. Does this affect your purchases?

A. No, I will buy as much as before.
B. No, I was already planning on downscaling.
C. No, I will buy more now (really?).
D. I don't know; the news is too fresh.
E. I wasn't planning on buying Trap Team.
F. Yes, I will purchase less figurines.
G. Yes, I will purchase a lot less figurines.
H. Yes, I will not be buying the game anymore.

It doesn't change my mind at all. In fact, I'm happy to hear they're not wasting development time on PvP and focusing on something more interesting instead. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure there's lots of people out there upset that it's been taken out. But all of those people have friends or family to play that mode with. I'm the only person I know that collects Skylander figures, so I never had anyone to fight against. My only friend that also enjoys this game just plays co-op with me whenever we play, so this won't stop us from sharing the game at all.

Between A and F, as weird as that sounds. I'm not getting many extras this game aside from my favorites since I'm not getting 100% after all. It's more figures than I usually buy for sure, but it's less if there was this extremely broken guy that's easy to find. PVP isn't a big deal for me but after getting S2 Ignitor it's kind of fun to have a sweeper to get rid of some of the more annoying guys for easy No Lives Lost dares - but with so many 'landers that I plan to get, it'll probably have enough to not need one.

A-B.

I never used PvP since I know no one who is as good at Skylanders as I am.

However, I'm not planning on getting a Trap Master of each element, thus I am "downscaling" compared to how I was playing before (unlocking all collectables). But, since there is such a huge volume of characters I do like, and am planning to get at one point or another, I might actually be buying more than I did during Giants or Swap Force this year, and thus not downscaling by how much money they're getting from me. So I guess it depends on how you look at it.

It's rather disappointing, but unlikely to change my purchases. It was a nice feature that I used with the kids occasionally. Given the choice between Kaos mode and PVP, I chose Kaos mode...but I fail to understand why a choice is necessary.

It seems like this would be a fairly easy feature to implement. Makes me wonder if they simply ran out of time.

No offense to Brock fans, but I think they should have skipped on Brock's arena challenges just to keep PvP. It's obvious that kaos mode was meant to replace PvP for three main modes in the game, so why not just drop Brock's arena challenges?

Wasn't going to buy everything, unlike the last installments. Not getting every Trap (just one of each Element and maybe one or two extra) and I might skip some variants and/or the Minis. Not going for nongame variants at all, aside from common ones I can import for the price of a normal figure, or any I happen to stumble upon. I did preorder Eon's Elite and intend to buy the set of eight, but I'm more interested in using them with SA than any other game, because they'll be fun to use in reruns.

I'm getting more disappointed about this the more I think about it. Assuming Survival is back, I kind of wish they cut Brock's Survival to add in Battle Mode instead, especially because we have Kaos Mode now.

I hardly played it in SF, but that was less because I didn't like PVP and more because the Battle Mode in that game sucked. I've still been playing Giants' every couple of weeks. I don't play it much now, but I had a blast with it when I played it more and I've got some good memories of it. I still played PVP for a little while and had some memorable Battle moments in SF.
My family aren't very good at Skylanders and I got tired of fighting them, but PVP was a HUGE part of what made them like the series, since that was (by far) the mode we played together most. It's kinda sad that it's gone to me, because now I can't look forward to raging against them or seeing them discover new Skylanders. I don't like co-op, because it feels like they can't keep up with me, and it doesn't have the item randomness nor the competitiveness PVP has to be interesting.

The only upside to me is that now the damned Battle Packs are gone, probably :V

I could see it being fun but I never had anyone to play it with. It also opens up a new slot for quests so it will be interesting to see how it's filled. It also removes the rock paper scissors element of the battle mode which makes new elements easier to put into the mix.

I couldn't agree more with you. Kaos mode is more extreme than Brock's survival arenas and would have easily been expendable for the sake of having PvP back in the game. Also yeah those battle packs were nothing but traps for those who didn't want the battle pack pieces or the reposes.

I choose answer A

It doesn't really change a thing. In fact most games with PvP are usually filled with toxic players. Skylanders being one of the only games that doesn't involve the internet of today, makes it more calming to play for my case. Because I don't have to deal with those players and enjoy playing my game.

F or A, will depend on the rest of Trap Team. PvP is a huge part of the gameplay for me, being able to battle my partner and little siblings is heaps of fun (even if I lose 90% of the time), and was the best part about buying extra figures.

I'm going to miss it heaps, but hopefully the rest of Trap Team will be great enough to make up for the loss. Will have to see.

Woops, missed your earlier post on the topic X) That's what I thought as soon as I heard PVP was gone in lieu of Kaos Mode. I don't think Survival is confirmed, but I'd definitely get rid of it in return for Kaos Mode with PVP. Even if Kaos Mode turns out to have less varied objectives, it seems to have better combat, which I think is why most played Survival in SF.
