Tempted to pick up the remaining shrines (at 150 gems) I need to max them out. I don't really need them, but tempted to just for the fun of it. Sheep topiaries are also showing up 50% off, but since I'm maxed out I can't see if they are 50% the 75 gems or not.

Also all alt houses are in the store

No mini houses, alas. I still need Snappy and Whisper's.

I think I am going to max out magic, since we are probably going to get some more at the end of the month for the follow-up quest(s) after the sanctum. The discounted companions are kind of a slap in the face to players who paid 3500 for Ol' Mac last weekend (and the claim that he was back for one day only!), since he is 2033 now.

You play the game long enough , to know never to buy the first discount you see . Discounts come in twos and the second one is always better .

They are very naughty that way .

Thankfully I didn't get him... since everything is on sale this weekend there are some tough gem decisions to make...

GEMS GEMS GEMS...I love a good sale, but to buy, or not to buy. That is my question.

We don't have any tech shrines, but have 1-2 of each of the others. I know people are buying/maxing out shrines so that quest bonuses can get "more" than the max--but that doesn't seem like the best thing to do since shrines just give gold/wish stones. If we max out/go over eventually, I'll be fine with it, but it isn't a priority over here.

I see Admiral Thumpback as "available" on the spin/portal screen. Is he someone I can spin for? 1750 gems--I think I'll pass. but if I can spin, I might buckle down to get the last skylanders before he goes away on the 15th

We've been in a place where we're spinning for skylanders and have 5 or 6 to spin for. We're getting one every 1-2 days now that we have Arbo (faster potions) Ol' Mac (more potions) and Ermit (shorter sanc time)

So, truly the companions are worth it. But 2000 for Flynn and 2033 for Kali is going to be a bit steep. AND we still want to save for Diggs. with 1600 gems, I just don't know what (if anything) I'll spend gems on.

I even see Tessa and Fiznik are back for another visit! Hopefully this helps some people!

remember when decorations were on sale for 60% off? we actually MADE money buying and selling back wagons right after we restarted the game. Bet they won't make THAT mistake again!

Yes, I quickly got Fiznik. Was really hoping to catch him at 50% off, but could not pass him up.

I felt the same way on the shrines. I maxed out the shrines for the main crops I plant (4 and 7 hrs.)

Shrines are nice for their gold and crop bonuses and I'm a fan of them, but I agree that there are a number of companions that are probably more valuable.

They give you # of shrines x10% elemental bonus when the crop element and element of the day match. Same with gold bonuses for adventures, sanctums, etc.

Right, so it's good to have shrines that match the crops you plant, and to plant those crops on days where the element of the day matches, so you can collect the bonus crops. But it only works on days where the element of the day matches so it's a limited benefit.

I knew about matching the element of the day with crops/skylanders/adventures and getting bonuses...I suppose with just 1 sanctuary for most of the islands, we didn't notice a multiplicative effect

I could not use activate because I arrived after they stopped people joining. I was able to buy him and with the tokens I saved for him I purchased the Eon statue. I have now reached level 41 and just purchased Sheep Island. It was worth getting Fiznik.
