Snap Shot, only because in previous games, I played as Spyro, Tree Rex and Wash Buckler first, each one is the obvious mascot character for each game. After that, I'll try Food Fight. After him, it's any other trap team characters I get, then it doesn't matter after that, probably Doom Rise

For the first Skylanders I will play as in STT are as followed:
Trap Master - Dark Snap Shot
Swap Force - Stink Bomb
Giant - Scarlet Ninjini
LightCore - Legendary Grim Creeper
Core - Dark Spyro (S1) or Phantom Cynder
Mini - Spry or Whisper Elf

If it were element-based:
Magic - Trap Shadow
Tech - Spy Rise
Earth - Flashwing (LightCore)
Air - Polar Whirlwind
Fire - Jade Fire Kraken
Water - Dark Snap Shot [first]
Life - Stink Bomb
Undead - Krypt King

If I had to choose either one of the two different choices I made to determine who I should play as, I'd flip a coin. Heads to play from my first choice, tails to play the second one. But either way, without a doubt I will play as Dark Snap Shot first when the game arrives

I'd probably pull out Pop Thorn... Has anybody heard if the Max level is raised yet? Otherwise I'll be using a level 20 Soul Gem Pop Thorn xD

Otherwise I'll have a go at the new Skylanders with the Dark Edition, maybe throw in my Dark Spyro etc as well to see if he gets any changes.

It might be a little off-topic, but, since checkerchairs talked about Pop Thorn, this came to my mind:
one of the things I honestly hope TfB fixes are some of the SWAP Force characters looks after upgrading.

I'll try to explain better.

One of the paths Dune Bug has changes the coloration of his body from a purple-green to a solid gold.
But that makes sense, since he gets a better armor.

Let's take Star Strike and Smolderdash. They both change their appearance with their Soul Gems, but they should really change it only if the path with the armor upgrade is choosen.

Same goes for other Skylanders with smaller, but equally unjustified aesthetic changes.
