Share what you're going to get for your STT collection. My NEW plan is something I've never done before. I thought of it last night. I said earlier I was going to get the Trap Team starter pack on Day 1. But I thought of something better I could do with Trap Team instead.

Eventually I'm going to cancel my pre-order for Trap Team and just focus on buying figures to 100% with. I said I wanted to get all the trap masters, both adventure packs, and 46 traps. So my goal is to get all of them unboxed BEFORE buying and playing the game. I want to get the most out of my blind playthrough of Trap Team. I could 100% the game just like that without having to wait for new figures to be released. And I could just capture all kinds of villains while going through the story. It would feel awesome.

I think this idea is brilliant. My money was very tight when I had to save up for the starter pack and also many trap masters. I know Wave 1 gets difficult to find in the long run. And Wave 2 is just hard to find for a while. So I'll only put my money towards Wave 1 and 2 masters and traps before they're gone. The starter pack is always there. It would probably be April or May 2015 when I have everything. I can wait that long. I'll just keep my Gearshift preorder and buy the Kaos trap on Day 1 to start me off.

But just one question: Will the starter pack go down in price next spring or summer? I've seen several posts here saying people found discounts on it.

Maybe while I choose whichever STT Skylander figures I love to collect and play, I'll probably collect more than one of Magic, Water and Undead Traps while getting one of the other elements; Tech (Hand), Earth (Orb), Air (Hourglass), Fire (Torch), and Life (Toucan). As for the figures I don't like much, I'll just buy them first, play them for awhile as I add them to my in-game collection and return them to the stores or sell them online. I like Magic, Water, and Undead elements more than the others.

50% reduction in purchases...I haven't seen the type of experience with Trap Team that is going to motivate my purchases, and I'm done with in game color variants and such. When they decide to change a bit more on the gameplay side, bring more features into the game, etc. I'll open my wallet more.

No reposes, no minis, no variants, no traps (I might spring for one 3-pack if Magic and Undead is in it), and at this point half of the new guys. I might spring for the Adventure Packs but unknown.

I'll buy the ones I think are amusing to me. I know I'm stuck with having to get one of each Trap Master but other than that requirement, I'll get only the characters who I think look amusing or who have gameplay that entices me. Luckily, they always have the preview portal at the store so I can get a look at them. No more of blindly buying everything for the sake of the game, unless this game can somehow really wow me. Sadly for Activision, SSF destroyed my need to own everything.

To start with, I'm going to grab one trap of each element, and the Kaos. Then, I'll get all the characters.
After finishing the character roster, I'll get as many traps as I can, until I have enough to fit the collection.

Why not get it Black Friday?

Black Friday? Good idea.

Though I don't want to get trolled by any amercian BF flyers as the BF here in Canada is different, IIRC. If the black friday thing is a go then I'll buy it and leave it unopened until the time of my full collection.

Things keep hitting my wallet lately, so I keep pulling back further and further on my expectations.

I might just get the Dark pack...and wait. Not even play it (I'll have DI2.0 too). Once money gets a bit better and the sales start to spike heading into the holidays, I'll look at maybe the triple packs. I've got a strong hunch that most of what I really want figure wise won't be until the middle/end of the cycle - like Enigma...so instead of "oh this is out, run to the store and get it", it's going to be, alright they got a BOGO 40% off going on, is it worth my money to get characters X & Y?

I plan to get Gear Shift and Gusto at launch. Plus the Kaos trap. Then I will buy one new Trap Master that I want per month, so I'll have all 8 I want around April. Then every time I buy a Trap Master, I am going to buy a trap of the opposite element. I pair the elements as Fire and Water, Air and Eartg, Life and Undead, and Magic and Tech. So at launch I'll get a magic trap with Gear Shift and an earth trap with Gusto. My only debate is whether or not I want to start the game with 3 trap masters, my other options being Wildfire with a water trap or Wallop with an air trap. But that's my plan, really only spending $20 per month on this game after launch, though I will get both adventure packs as they are released.
