Probably because they don't want to reveal their true names. Only one gets the contest name, while the others get either their prototype name, or a brand new one.

I am starting to think there are two new elements. Perhaps Light and Dark? What about Hero and Villain?

I am going out on a crazy limb here, and I'm going to say the last two cores are from a Hero/Villain category, or a Light/Dark element. KAOS has his elemental symbol.

They said 18 cores, but only 16 Trap Masters. So if the two black boxes are Hero/Villain, I am calling for a Glumshanks and Flynn toy, plus 2 additional figures, be it Minis or something else.

2 bosses blacked out, 6 enemies blacked out. 1 boss and 3 enemies can go with those two hidden elements they're obviously keeping secret.

So, I am thinking Light/Dark element, or Hero/Villain toys for those final two boxes.

Ah, they tweaked Krankcase's name a bit.

I have to admit, all of those names are pretty clever.

I'd say that my favorite villains are Chompy Mage, Krankcase, Kaos, and the Golden Queen.

It's very odd that Tech, Undead and Earth don't have series 2/3/4 reposes at all. That makes the toy number odd

Is there no Magic villain boss. Would be weird for that to be one of the question marks for boss villains.

Out of the new characters from the poster I am intrigued by Enigma, Trail Blazer, Echo, and Short Cut. I am thinking the question marks are just them not showing all the characters yet and not a new element.

5 of the 8 elements only have 3 villains at the bottom - not counting main villains. And the question marks at the top could easily be the reposes for Earth, Tech, and Undead plus either Eon or Kaos figure. I lean towards Eon because it is unexpected, having a Kaos figure would defeat purpose of capturing him, and Skylanders Dad having Eon in his one video (as a possible hint).

I am probably completely wrong but it seems to fit more into what I would expect from Activision.

Well I am loving all this new info we must think of something important. Why the unbalance between the villain elements. We clearly see that the favoring villain types are life,tech,and water with have 6 villains each. Then we have earth,fire,undead,and air with only have 4 each. Then we have lonely magic with only 3 villains in the element. The unbalance seems a little weird to me but I still love everything we have seen today.

To be honest I'm just concerned for the magic element in the villains which seems left out. If one of those question marks were to be a magic villain I would be a bit more happier seeing that the magic would be balanced with earth,fire,undead, and air

I suspect he's the Magic Doom Raider. I wonder who the tenth is...

We are missing a Magic Major Villain, so he could be that. There are no other Major Villains that are not on the poster that are in the Achievements list.

There is a lot of room for speculation there... Could there be evil trap masters/characters of the Kaos element - it does match the symbol in the Rainfish Riviera level? There are evil portal masters, after all. It would be cool to have Order and Kaos as the final elements. In Kaos mode maybe you actually defeat and trap Eon as the final boss - he is a disembodied head after all, so you wouldn't have a figure. The nonsense possibilities make my head spin

I like Echo. I want to see some gameplay of him. I also want to see gameplay for Trail Blazer before I decide if I'll buy him.

I'm still betting on Gnasty Gnorc/Ripto being one of the question mark villains.

Ho about two "Kaos" Element Core characters and two Minis?
After all, he doesn't seems to be that bad in Trap Team, right?
Not that excited about this whole "new Element" thing. Only two characters from an element, compare to the 14 of the others...?
THAT is not balanced. Reposes are just reposes. They can make 5 from an element, and 1 from the others, if they wanted to. It only depends on the charcters.
But a whole new Element with only 2 heroes...?

That being said, the new revealed Skylanders are AWESOME!

Enigma still doesn't look like a Skylander at all, but she (?) promises to be a great character.

Cobra Cadabra looks cool, and the name is really clever.

Echo? Pure awesomeness. At first, with the blurred picture, I tought she was an ice dragon, but I guess she would have looked too similar to Flashwing.

Trail Blazer looks quite interesting. A really fast charcter, I hope!

Tuff Luck promises to be agile but strong.

Thunderbolt looks like a cross between Ignitor and Lightning Rod, but seems original enough. The only thing I don't like that much, is his weapon. Krypt King already has a sword, but I'm sure his gameplay will be really creative.

Short Cut wins the "best Skylander name" contest, this year. And he looks cute and creepy at the same time. Really curious to try him.

I choose not to look at the villains, since I want them to be a surprise, but some of them seems to be in the wrong Element, somehow...

So my feelings are Short Cut is the best Trap Master, I wish Hood Sickle could have been an actual Skylander, and funny that I actually was thinking as a stretch that Enigma could be the name for Deja Vu, but I never thought that would be used for the second Magic Trap Master.
