Are we sure Brawlrus isn't redesigned Brawl and Chain?

I mean, they look the same and the names are alike, is it possible that TFB scrapped Brawl and Chain and turned the design into Brawlrus?

No, they showed us both Brawlrus AND Brawl & Chain at Gamescon

Also, I don't really see any visual cues as to why he is Tech. Maybe a cool gun or something (a blunderbuss like Wash Buckler?) would make it more obvious.

He DOES have a cannon.

I do feel that he probably should have been Water, while Brawl and Chain should have been Tech.
