Hooray for 1/2 price Swap Houses!

I picked up 9 of them, so now have a cluster of 15 Swap Houses next to my 14 Legendary Halls. I keep one swapper of each element free to clear bats, and everyone else has a house to fill.

I know others prefer to have swappers on adventures or in sanctums/sanctuaries, but I'm all about chances to earn gems, so I can get the next cool thing they make available. And at level 45, I don't have much use for gold anyway.

Too bad i am committed to buying Rufus <Ho hum > . I have three or four spare swoppers not on Sugarbat Patrol that could do with some housing .

Umm sanctums/sanctuaries do give a chance for gems as well as gold and wishstones by the way .

Yes, but I don't believe that chance is increased when you use a 'special' skylander over a regular one. I think the bonus is only for the gold. I absolutely populate everything - just with regular skylanders.

Are Swop Houses better then the Dragon lair and Dark house ?

Not in my opinion. Dragon and Dark collect every 2 hours, giving them great potential. I'd only buy them when they go on a good sale though, 1200 is way too steep. I maxed Dark's when they sold for 400. I'll only buy Swap's once I have everything else.

Hello Master fhoenix. I don't think they give rewards that are any better, and swap force characters can be better used elsewhere.

I would generally go for dark/dragon houses first, also, but if one of the three are on sale, it might be worth picking up some.

I disagree with Midas only on one point... If you don't need the swappers for anything else, then the houses are worth it (on sale, of course). Personally, I get enough gold from loading all the houses and sanctuaries/sanctums and free 16 hour missions that I have a swap house for every spare swapper (I keep one of each element free for bats).

Can't you make more gold sending the swappers on their 3-hour mission (especially in an airship) than you can putting them in the house, even after the energy cost?

I realize my question values the gold over the possible gem payouts from the houses. I guess if you're swimming in gold, then by all means the houses make some sense. If you still like both gold and gems, I'd rather not spend my gems on these houses given their meager payouts and use swappers for missions or even in sanctums.

Midas, you're right. I did leave out the key statement - I'm using the swap houses to augment gem production. You're also right about the gold, I am swimming in it; even without being diligent about checking in multiple times a day, I've already surpassed the amount of gold I had when they first introduced sheep island. I agree the swap houses are really only worth it when you don't need the extra gold generation and want the few extra gems added to daily collections.

FREE 16-Hour mission? What?

He's talking about using the adventure clock to get a "free" mission. It still costs energy, but it's "free" in they you get it extra without waiting the time. So you can send all your swappers on 16 hour missions and earn a lot of gold in almost an instant.

I love the adventure clock. It cuts the time to level from 14-15 in half, which makes that task barely tolerable!

Whats the rush ?

Not sure it's a rush, but if you run out of goals, the game stops being fun. At the higher levels, getting the latest Alter Ego up to level 15 as quickly and efficiently as possible is simply a goal to pursue.

I'm obsessed with having everything "complete" and fully leveled up in this game, so I am always in a rush to get skylanders up to level 15.

Was thinking about this thread again now that I hit level 45. Really, now that I am maxed out on leveling everything, the main thing I need more of is gems. Although the swappers are great at getting gold from adventure balloons, you still can have the best of both worlds there.

You can put all your swappers in balloons once a day, activate the adventure clock, collect a bunch of gold, then immediately put them in their swap houses for the rest of day while the balloons are used on tomorrow's element. I only log in a couple of times per day, so that seems to be a good rhythm for me. I am sure it can be optimized differently for the people who login every 2 hours.

My gem payout has been pretty lousy from sanctuaries lately and I always feel jipped when I get a wish stone payout from a sanctuary which happens way more often than a gem payout. If it weren't for Ol Mac making my rich with energy I'd probably skip them altogether.

Has anyone else stocked up on swap houses? I have only 2 so far.

I had one heck of great gem payout from my sanctuaries yesterday . One of them gave me 2 sets of gems .

I have 7, planning to add 1 more (hoping fo another sale) to have a complete set of 1 for each element. I'll leave the remaining 2nd swapper of each for those sugar bats.

I will buy swophouses when i have more gold then i can spend which is a very long time in the future
. Right Now my Swoppers are on cash cow duty . Plenty of other "houses" to buy.

Considering I'm at 374 million gold, it is not a top priority for me. I have 11 swap houses; still leaving out enough swappers to cover sugar bats.
