Alright, you may be wondering why I'm posting a question concerning the PSN on darkspyro when my question is easily answered by googling it. Well, I'd like to know how many others have had the same experience and what they'd done about it.

In early 2007 I bought my PS3 and on the same day I was prompted to make a PSN account. Problem is that the account I created was co-created with my father's interest in mind. As a result, the online name is one that suits my dad and the e-mail address used is no longer in use and overrun with spam. So recently I created another to use. Problem is that the new account is refused by Sony's pathetic policy about one account per user and once an account is linked to a particular user there's no way of removing it. Unlike if your a Japanese Sony customer, you can change your online name and e-mail whenever you want. (**** you, Sony. I thought we'd at least be able to get something as simple as that when you were hacked back in 2011 as an apology.) Because of this, I haven't been able to use any of the online features and redeemable codes received with games since I bought the damn thing.

Long story short, what do I have to do to use the new e-mail address on my PS3 and will my previous purchases still be available if I create a new user with my new address?

Thanks, I thought so. Do you know if it's possible to delete my first account? And what will happen to my purchases if I do so?
