Thank you for the responses. Is there any reason or benefit to preordering? The dark pack for SF is still on shelves where I live. If there is something special then I'd understand ordering early.

Not at this point. Other than to know that you will be sure to get one on D-Day. I don't think that will be an issue though.

The WiiU version last year was in much smaller quantities, and therefore hard to obtain last year. I doubt they make the same mistake again. That's the only reason I could imagine to pre-order this early.

The only true "special" items in this pack are the Dark characters, and the special edition version of the Kaos Trap Crystal.

The regular Kaos crystal will be in limited quantities, is smaller in size than the one in the Dark edition, and has less details.

So there aren't any freebies for pre ordering. ..

Where did you see that the Kaos trap will be in "limited" quantities?? I find that incredibly hard to believe since one of the few selling points to this game is getting to play as Kaos. Whats the use in buying and playing a game where you play as the villains if you have no access to play as the main villain of the entire game??? Makes no sense, business or otherwise.

I'd be willing to bet on the chances that we will see a preorder bonus soon. Skylanders needs to remain competitive with Disney Infinity (offering preorder bonus figure) and retailers need to outdo each other since they will all be getting the Standard Trap Team starter packs and Dark Edition starter packs. I'll be waiting it out until closer to launch as I recall TRU offering the best preorder bonus figure (in addition to the Lightcore Hex) shortly before Swap Force was released. I know patience isn't big with us Skylanders fans, but I'd also be willing to bet on seeing price drops from $75 to the $40 range around Thanksgiving (1 & 1/2 months after Trap Team release) for the standard edition. I would assume major sales on the dark edition around Thanksgiving time as well since GameStop doesn't have exclusivity on it.

So no more news yet on the rumoured TRU Legendary Starter packs?

It's not actually legendary skylanders in the pack. It's simply an offer called "The LEGENDARY Sweepstakes" and if you preorder Trap Team, you get a few random old skylanders with the starter pack. Not really "legendary" if you ask me.

I called my TRU last night and the guy told me there were no dark edition packs for preorder in their store system. Last I checked, only the Wii U one was on TRU.com

Target and walmart have online the other versions so TRU website is just behind in adding them to other systems. So yeah give it a few days.
