Omg... Who remembers these books??? And more specifically... THE ****ING PICTURES???
I remember my 2nd grade teacher reading us these stories, and the one that stuck most with me was the one about the Semi truck following this lady at night who had a guy in her backseat with a knife.
Anyway, these pictures... Apparently they were so disturbing, that they had another artist re-illustrate the books, and they were re-distributed and published, and now you can't find the original copies in stores ANYWHERE.
Anyway, I'm sure you'll see why people thought these images were a little unnerving and unsettling for kids...
Don't click unless you want nightmares.... or you don't get easily scared.

The last picture in the first spoiler looks really dopey.

They weren't even that scary, they're not even unsettling, my guess is some overprotective parents complained and threatened to sue the publisher

They're somewhat unsettling for me.

But yeah, they really weren't that scary at all.

They're not scary.

They used to be when you were a little kid. I personally think that they're cool nowadays. But when you are a kid and you hear the stories that go along with those pictures, it makes it 10x more disturbing.

Yeah, probably if I did hear the story with the pictures, it would be more disturbing. ~<.<~
