Her face seems to be everywhere and my sister is practically obsessed with her. It's getting to be a bit annoying, really. I just wanna know what's so great about her?

She's always been really popular, because she was a great icon of show business, sex, etc back then. And apparently she's still just as popular and famous today.

I'm late to the party but:

From what I've seen people have seen her as both sexy, as well as some sort of image of female individuality and empowerment.
I can think of a few women that would be better images of empowerment than her, but I digress.

Basically, she's popular because of feminists. (At least that's how I see it.) I agree though, as much as I like her, I don't think she's that big of a deal.

Well, whenever you're a famous person in history, you tend to stick around. All I really know about her is that she was featured the first few issues of Playboy, and that Andy Warhol used a picture of her in one of his most famous works of pop-art.

On a side note, am I the only one who gets Marilyn Monroe and Marilyn Manson mixed up a lot? I swear I do it all the time whenever either of their names are brought up.
