Well… trends are actually a very important part of social communities regardless of the social platform. Trends actually arouse conversation, like this topic. This topic would not simply exist without trends. I am not that big on trends but I understand people who like them. Trends create temporary feel of unity and bigger appreciation to community and that is good thing. Trends can at their best bring people superficially together and lead on to more profound-based interactions between people.

But of course the opposing side has its valid points. Trends lack of deep substance which make them look shallow and pointless. Eventually in this life we human beings are searching for meanings in various different subjects and because of that some superficial hashtags, trends, etc. can look very stupid. But they’re original meaning is not profound; their meaning is to create speculation. Speculation creates arguments, arguments create different end-results and aftermath depends on the result of those quarrels.

My point is that we need trends but we must always have rational point of view when we are getting into them. If we manage to analyse in theory and especially in practise the meaning of trends in our lives, we can make a positive difference in our respective destinies but if we rush into things we will probably end in the camp of disappointment in long-term.

I have never been one for trends, not had a strong desire to fit in (survive yes, but fit in? Not so much). I might possibly adjust to a trend partially to avoid a ton of humiliation or teasing or similar, but even then, still don't care for them.

I'm somewhat antisocial lol.

Doing a trend just because it's trending though, that's just lunacy.
