To be exact, I wanna know if I have to play the first two games (or watch the anime series) before getting into Sengoku Basara: Samurai Heroes.

I thought of waiting for Sengoku Basara 4 but learning about it's poor sales (or Capcom's overly-high expectations) and the lack of word on any chance on localising the game, I thought I might just buy Samurai Heroes.

Again, is there a continuity or is it like Dynasty Warriors in which they tell the same story over and over?

I have never heard nor seen of this series or anime, and that's saying something. I watch everything between Attack on Titan and Black Butler.
