I mean Malefor; his "death" wasn't nearly climactic enough for it to have been permanent.
sure it was cool how the ancestors dragged him into that crystal thing in the floor, but I doub't anything that happened after that could be enought to keep him down.

Also, Ignitus did say that when a dragon dies his soul lives on forever in nature. I bet almost anything that in one of the future Spyro games Malefor will return as the main boss. Similar to Ripto, really.

If by that you mean...

Some future villain in a new Legend universe Spyro game frees Malefor to use him, then you could be right. But generally, when that happens, the freed villain is just used by whoever freed him, shows up as a boss, and then is defeated. <.<

No, I think he will free himself. After all he must have done it before, since Gauls attempt to free him failed in TEN.

We didn't actually see him die. Remember Spyro three Year of the Dragon? The Sorceress fell into a pit of lava! But we saw her climb back out again. Ripto did the same thing; he crahed his bird into the lava but returned in other games. Repeatedly

Malefor ISN'T dead or gone... Sorry guys but those are the facts. Wait and see. He'll definitely be back at some point in the future. Spyro did turn him into a statue and then blast him to dust like he did Gaul in Eternal Night so he'll be back.

It is only a matter of time...

But they really don't have another choice. If they make a bigger villian then Malefor, I bet there will be huge complaints.

Maybe, but I think it will not be during Spyro's lifetime. I suspect he is sealed away in the same manner he was be for Cynder broke the seal, so he will have to wait for another dragon born during the year of the dragon who is inclined to free him. And I will point out that last time it took 70 generations of dragons for that to happen.

They did not choose to be evil, and everything points to Malefor having decided to take that path he did, so no.

I don't believe gaul failed, since he had no part in it anyway. He was just guarding his fortress long enough to allow Malefor to come out. Cynder achieved in free him from the portal thus taking that strong foc that kept him trapped for so long as well as gave him enough power to free himself the rest of the way. He was resurrected by the celestial moults intersecting one another which opened the door for Malefor into the physical world as well as giving his powers back to be master again. I do believe that he will retun for the ending seemed unfinished, but either way, I wouldn't care....that's just my opinion.

I think he is sealed up as he was before ANB, which means he will need a dragon born in the year of the dragon to help him get free.
