What's better about iOS on an iPad than a Windows 8 tablet?

Well... that's opioninated. I'm saying to sell the iPad because you can get something that does much more and can actually play PC games for half the price. The iPad is WAAAAAY too expensive and anyone without bottomless pockets can agree.
The only advantage to an iPad is ease of use and entertainment value to younger kids and the elderly. Other than that, it's like burning a few $100s.
I don't hate Apple; the Mac is very fluent in what it does with the exception of gaming and application compatibility, but iOS is the underdog in my opinion. Smart buyers will buy Windows but if you like simplicity and something that "just works" for significantly more money, carry on.

All tablets are expensive.

Another advantage: Microsoft products always seem to die within 3 years of purchase.
Would you prefer something that will last 10 years, albeit get old, for 1.5 times as much as something you'd have to buy 3 times to last that long?

Just my experience with Microsoft.

Apple does a great job making others look SUPER affordable.

iPads don't last 10 years. The embedded Li-Ion will die inevitably in 3 years tops. That's just the way science is. And what Microsoft devices that you previously owned had died in 3 years?

First of all, Subway is damn good.

Apple is only good at it's designing for all ages and keeping memory more or less under control, I guess.

Windows 8 is a way too "comfortable" enviroment. With all that smoothness, changing a Hard Drive and the Setup seems like such an "easy" task simply because the system makes it look like anyone can do it.
Although I've heard it's performance is remarkable.

And lastly, subway is okay moreover.

Same. It took me a little bit to get used to the Windows 8 layout on my PC but now that I know where everything is, I really like it.

as a mac user i can say gaming performance isn't terrible, and it does run windows quite smoothly via bootcamp

Uh...I have an iPad....

At my old school, they had carts of 30 Ipads going around the school, with each classroom starting with two, and they are run fluently and are useful when you know what to do with it.

Windows 8 is the same thing, once you know what to do, it's easy as heck to search your files, look up certain programs, and find your way across your com/tablet.

There is one thing about Windows products that really pisses me off. All of the apps cost like .99 cents or up. Like, where is my Insta? My Snapchat? They really need to add some more content on the store tho. And it's just confusing to make an account on such, since me and my brother have the same computer, yet different files, and different application needs, and we are only allowed to have one account sooo. Woot woot Apple.

This reminds me of that school laptop we were each given about 5 or 6 years ago. Being a school computer you could guess it was bad. I don't know what was worse, it's components or the fact it had Linux.
