*Foxtail gave a sigh of relief as he stepped into the cool, shaded temple; it was a welcome relief from the blazing summer heat outside. Tiny streams of sunlight leaked through the cracks of the weather-worn ceiling, revealing the dust that had lingered in the air of these ruins for decades, maybe centuries. The soft clicking of his digging claws making contact with the stony floor and his own breath were the only sounds Foxtail could detect as he explored the place. The eerie silence wasn't the most comforting thing in the world, but he felt completely immersed in his venture. There was a beauty in adventures like this he had never forgotten, and what felt like mere minutes in these labyrinthine corridors was in reality several hours. Eventually, as he neared a corner, he could see a strange light seeping from the adjacent room. Curious, he peeked in to find the source of the light: a violet portal, swirling with ethereal energies, hovering over what he could only assume was an ancient altar. A sense of uneasy intrigue washed over the youthful fox as he gazed upon the rift. He knew there would be dangers- there was no telling what lied on the other side, or even if he could return to this plane after he entered. But risks had never stopped him from satisfying his hunger for adventure, so with a quick prayer, he stepped through to see what this portal offered.*

* Foxtail emerged from the rift back into his own world. There was nothing remarkable about the dimension on the other side; just dust and an empty void. *sarcastically* Sure you didn't. If you really weren't there, how do you know that this thing is really Shadme? And if you didn't do it, then how else could she become a Lost Child, hmm?
