What is the size of the E3 Trap

Can someone that has the E3 Trap please post the height and width of the Trap.

The package is approx 6.5 inches talk 3.25 wide the figure is approx 3 inches tall and 2 inches wide

Could you provide the measurement of the diameter of the widest part of the bottom piece of the trap that is inserted into the new portal? Many thanks in advance.

The bottom of the trap is approx. 1.5 cm in diameter.

To me it looks like 1.5 cm and 4.3 in.

I am keeping mine in the package for now, you can see a chip in there so I am hoping it will work without opening it

I do wonder if it can work by placing it anywhere on the portal or will only work in that slot. It stands to reason that anywhere in the signal range will work.

At E3 one of the workers told me that you have to place the trap inside the portal for it to work.

The chip in it is extremely small compared to a Skylander, thus the range is expected to be smaller.

Yes I have tried (with it IN box), and it does not give the usual "This figure does not work with this game" message.

Not necessarily, the current portal probably has no idea how to read the trap. Place an open one on the portal and see if you get the same result.
