The book is amazing. I highly recommend it. I'm not big on romances, but it's more than just romance and it took me less than a day to finish. But definitely read the book first. I feel like you should always do that anyway: Read the book first, then see the movie... I dunno, reading before watching might ruin the movie for you a bit. Depends on the person, I guess.
And I haven't really heard anything bad about the movie.

The book was amazing. I can't say about the movie, I haven't seen it.
However... I *always* recommend reading the book first. It's way better to be able to form your own ideas/pictures in your head about the book as opposed to seeing the movie first and knowing what everything is "supposed" to look like. Seeing the movie first takes most of the magic out of it.

I haven't read the book, but the film is one of the biggest surprises I've ever seen. I was expecting it to be all sappy like most cliche romance novels, but it was a lot more than that. Great characters, story, development, strong dialogue, and an ending that actually made my girlfriend and I come so close to crying.

its one of the most surprisingly great films I've ever seen. regardless of if you read the book, definitely see the movie.

The book is too soppy, rambles on too much and not sad enough imo

So, it's too lovey-dovey and not about death and destruction?
