Does anyone else have a desire for a handheld system made for indie games such as Mutant Mudds, Terraria, and Don't Starve?

A third party company is working on making a hand held Steam Machine called the Steamboy - that'll be sure to run all the games you mentioned pretty darn well.

PS Vita.
Sony seems to have completely given up on the device and has given it little first party support. They haven't even bothered to get third party support from big name western devs, save for the recent Borderlands 2 and maybe the upcoming release of Minecraft. As a result, the system is currently surviving almost entirely off of indie and Japanese titles, and I suppose it has a good selection of indies (Don't Starve is the only game you listed that isn't available on Vita) as well as its own exclusive indie titles. But because it has more or less become an indie/JRPG machine, I would suggest waiting for a sale somewhere in the holiday season rather than spending full price for the device now. |

considering indie gaming is everywhere right now, i don't think there is a need for a whole handheld console dedicated to them when you can easily get indie games on a 3DS, any app store, or, like CAV said, a PSVita.

I second a 3DS, they have a ton of games on the eShop!
