No... You put your figures on the big base and can change with a remote control, instead of go and switch figures with your hand you only click a button.

People should know that this is only sold in Canada... unless they changed that... but I doubt it.

I got one of these a while back to give to my son for his birthday. we plugged it in the other night and I noticed first that the trap team portal is way to large to sit in the spot for the portal, but we were able to make 8 skylanders work still.
second, when we would try to use traps, it was not seeing the traps when we were trying to load up from the villain vault. anyone else had this issue and a work around other than unplugging and re plugging in the usb cord.
