It looks like the update just came down. No new companions or Skylanders (for those who want to buy/spin), but they did add a new toy link tower for life Skylanders. It gives out rewards (I believe every 4 hours), and the more Skylanders of that element that you have linked to the game (meaning you used the portal or the code), the better the rewards. When I went to purchase the tower, it was only 25 gems, but you get a line of 3 quests that I earned automatically since I had enough linked Skylanders. The first quest gave 25 gems (so you automatically earn your gems back) for having a linked life Skylander. The second gave 50 gems for linking more Skylanders (I believe 2 more) and the third quest gave out a life shrine.

Because of the new tower (I'm assuming the other elements will eventually come), they have added a new icon on the Skylander pages that show which characters you have linked. That should help for those of us who have spun for Skylanders but also have the figure to know which ones you have linked or not.

Also added were a timed quest for the life sanctum that gives a radiant field and a timed quest for Duff that gives a chompy snowman. I also noticed that I could buy more regular balloons. I'm not sure if that was new or not. I also saw an info screen that promoted a sale on gems which said it was enough to buy the life sanctum and link tower. I already have the sanctum so others will have to chime in whether or not the life sanctum is now available for those who didn't get it with the quest. I also got a sale for dragon lairs (600 gems) and dark houses (400 gems) until June 1. I've never picked up a Dark House, so I may have to pick one up.

OK, so I spent 25 gems on the Life Link Tower and immediately got 75 back! Nice deal!

Also saw a teaser about the New June Alter Ego, so looks like it will be another new one.

I just commented in another link how I missed the life sanctum go figure lol. guess the question is do I want to spend 1200 gems on it or not.....sigh

I got my first reward of 3,000 gold. Not sure if gold is all you get. I have 11 linked life Skylanders.

I got 2000 for my first, but I've only got 5 linked Skylanders. Maybe it's random, maybe it's related to link number.

I have all the life guys linked and I got 3000 as well. Like shrines, it gives gems on life days.

Don't you mean wish stones?

It's supposed to be based on how many Skylanders you have linked, although there could be a maximum value. I got 3 gems (not wish stones), this morning, and it's a life day, so it's possible that CrazyCanuck is right. I guess I'll have to wait and see.

I only had 10 out of 19 life skylanders that were linked. I got 3000 gold as well on my first. So maybe 3000 is like the max amount you can earn.

Bought Duff and started clearing trees -- 3 have cleared so far and no chests. Not feeling very confident that I am going to get 10 chests in 4.5 days if no chests are ever actually going to appear.

The chests don't have to come from just trees. The ones you get from sheep, trolls, etc. count as well.

I'll get the chests, but doubt I'll get the trees! Figured I'd get Duff since I had a tree up last night and try.

When Life is your element of the day, you get gems - 1, 2, or 3, depending on how many you have linked. On all other days, you get gold - $1,000, $2,000, or $3,000.

Today is a life day for me and the TLT awarded 3 gems.

Yep, so far, I have received 3 gems every time I have collected today (a life day).

Yes the Life tower seems like a pretty sweet deal, especially if you already have a few linked skylanders! Hopefully this means they'll do a new Sanctum and Link tower for each element? Maybe one each month? That would take us up to the end of the year and by then we will be well into Trap Team holiday season.

So with the new islands, Sanctums, link towers and new alter egos, it seems we have a lot to look forward to again in Lost Islands
