Did we ever determine why the shipped version of him looked different than what was on the poster in the game? I'd like some reporting work from the marketing guys on youtube when you go visit TFB. Might make some interesting trivia.

I'll attempt to get some info.

I thought the popular theory at the time was because although the original LC Pop Fizz model has him holding two bottles, only the one bottle would actually light up.

From what I remember when Giants first released, a significant amount of people were reporting some figures (specifically Hot Head) were "broken" because they assumed more than one part would light up (such as Hot Head's hands should light up along with the top of the head). They probably just wanted to avoid the same issue and remove the bottle that was never meant to light up.

It would be nice to get some actual confirmation though. LC Prism Break will probably remain the pinnacle of the Lightcore feature.

Without knowing for sure, I would bet it was to make him have one light instead of two. Similar to Hothead, despite his figure being made with a mold to have the wiring to his hands (modders have done this). They probably realized they couldn't just not light the second bottle after the Hothead mess.

Second possible reason is they discovered they were having difficulty in the manufacturing of the mold for him. Some poses simply don't lend themselves to easy mass production, particularly with wiring in such a small figure. Yes it could be done, but the cost might have been more than they were willing to pay.

I know this is an old topic, but I just noticed something about this image...


Where did this come from? Is this a masterful photoshop job or does a larger version of this image exist???

Compare that magic base to this image of Double Bottle Pop Fizz...


Now look at the base on the actual Lightcore Pop Fizz...


The symbols are reflected on the actual figure base. It appears as if there are 3 versions of Lightcore Pop Fizz.

^ The bases of some figures get put on backwards.

Look at the swirls on the base of any magic character. They all go the same way, but LCPF goes the other way.

I always found it odd that he has the bottle in his left hand. Maybe he's doing a magic trick in the mirror.

I got ya. That was a brilliant idea!

I thought I got scammed when I bought him on ebay and he looked different from the picture. The poster image was with the original two-bottle one, and they couldn't light up two bottles. After complaints with Hot Head, they changed Lightcore Pop Fizz to just one bottle.

If anyone knows how to get this shot of Lightcore Pop Fizz with THE BASE, I'd really appreciate it!
