So recently, I bought an Elgato Game Capture HD off of a friend of mine, and I also happen to own Fraps on my computer. So suffice to say, I can record footage of a lot of video games.

I have been doing a lot of research and experimentation in an attempt to achieve true HD quality on YouTube for a while now, even before I bought the equipment, and I've finally achieved video quality that matches the output of the actual game perfectly within YouTube's video player.

But that all means nothing if I don't actually produce any content. And that's exactly what I want to do.

I want to actually make things people would enjoy though, and I would like some feedback on this. Are there any games you would like to see me cover through LP/Review?

I already have a line-up of things I'm considering, but I'm open to suggestions. Even if you don't think I've played the game, suggest it anyway, as blind playthroughs are also something I really want to do at some point.

Hopefully, with enough variety, I can establish a viewer base, and maybe feel confident enough to monetise my videos.

Some games I have in mind for LPs at some point are:

Sonic Lost World Wii U (Post-Commentary)
Sonic Generations PC (Post Commentary or Live with others. I am willing to do mods as well as the vanilla game)
Sonic Unleashed Xbox 360 (Post Commentary - I would combine the Wii version with it but The Great Clement already did that)
Rayman Legends Wii U single-player (Post-Commentary)
Super Mario 3D World (Live with a friend, though this will not be possible until later)
Legend of Spyro Trilogy (Post-Commentary)
Super Smash Bros. Brawl - The Subspace Emissary (live with a friend, not possible until later)

For reviews/retropectives (basically games I'd rather not/can't playthrough but have a fair bit to talk about):

Knack
Mario Kart 8
Super Smash Bros 3DS
Professor Layton games
Kid Icarus: Uprising
Kirby Triple Deluxe
Catherine

As well as that, I have other kinds of smaller things in mind (recording competitive events for communities, opinion/discussion videos, speed runs, etc)

In regards to the video quality I have achieved, here are some examples (for the best quality, watch it on a Full HDTV, with the video quality set to 2160p - this may require a powerful computer and a fast enough internet connection though. If you can't watch with that kind of set up, watch at whatever HD resolution you might normally watch at):

I'd advise against doing anything Pokemon or Mineraft related, far too generic.

Try some classic games. Loads of people watch them if they're good quality and if the commentators are comedic.

That'll come later. Right now, I want to do things that show off HD goodness.

Try games that are in the bargain bin that aren't really known because many people have not played them and you'll get less competition.

If you are doing this on PC I wouldn't mind making a cameo in some of the games!

Tomb Raider!

I just started recording a Sonic Lost World Wii U Let's Play today. Recorded 5 out of 9 parts. I probably won't be publishing any until the end of the week though.

Also, I plan to try my hand at a video review when Mario Kart 8 comes out.

I'd say either really new games, so people can get a feel for them before they buy it, or older the better, but like HCI said, try to avoid Minecraft, and if you do pokemon, try to distinguish yourself. I personally don't like watching "let's play" of a game, but I like other's reviews of a game, especially top 10's and things like that.

I don't play Minecraft or Pokémon so it's not a worry.

I'm pretty far ahead with my Sonic Lost World playthrough. I just finished trimming all unneeded footage, and I created the custom thumbnails today too.

I'll probably be uploading parts of it over the course of the next week. All I have left to do is add in some edits (I might not go through with it but I want to experiment), record commentary, upscale all 9 parts to 4K (this is the part that will take a while), and then I can upload. Once I upload each part, I probably won't publish them until they are fully processed.

What mic are you using?

I have an Astro Gaming A30 Headset. Haven't tested the Mic yet, but if it's good enough, I'll use that. Of not, I'll use a Guitar Hero Mic which is actually pretty good.

If you have xbox360/xboxone/ps3 you can do the games they give you for free for that month (if you pay for the subscription) . ?

If you are interested in them, I think top ten videos are entertaining to listen to.
