I'm highly considering taking it next year (junior year). For anyone who has taken it, what is it like? Is it easy? Is there a lot of busy work/homework? Is the exam easy? What subjects do you cover, and which are the most difficult?

I took it last year. They didn't offer AP courses for it, but yeah it was pretty easy in my opinion. If you're taking an AP course, there is going to be a lot of work involved, so if you haven't taken an AP class before, prepare yourself and make sure you'll dedicate some time to the work. The exam was fairly easy, considering my teacher sucked at her job, but you'll probably have a different exam since it's AP. They give special tests for those classes. You'll go over various things, like the rock and water cycle, the layers of the earth, moon phases and tides, etc. Only if you're taking AP, you'll probably go into better detail on those subjects. And to me, the most difficult thing was the rock cycle. I don't know why, I've just always had a difficult time with that. But that's all a matter of preference.
I think it's a great idea to take the class. It'll be a lot of work, but it's definitely rewarding. Just don't overdo it, because junior year seems to be the hardest for some reason. I hope this helped, and good luck ![]() |

As far as AP goes I've heard ES is on the easy side, you'll be fine.

I took it last year, as a sophomore (it was the first time it was offered, and we were the guinea pig group.) It was EXTREMELY rigorous at first, as there was a lot of work involved and it was our first AP class, but I got the hang of it quickly and I ended the year with an A in the class. Others didn't do so hot, though.
Science and English are my strong suits, so that probably explains why I did well. If science is one of your strong suits, too, and you're passionate about helping the environment (like I am), then I'm sure you'll do fine. |

Just talked to the teacher of it. Sounds like it won't be too bad. Not too much crazy stuff involved.
