Ok, so based on the poster that comes with the SF Starter Pack, those 56 figures would be considered the base set correct??
I only recently started building my SF collection and have been just buying a few here and there. So I'm curious as to which figures the rest of you would say are the hardest to find from the base (poster) set. I may have passed 1 or 2 not knowing they were harder to find then others lol.
I'd love some input.

Generally speaking, you buy these toys when they become available, otherwise all bets are off. They are introduced in waves and when that wave is "done" your only shot is when Activision ships back stock to stores at some undetermined point in the future or you buy on eBay.
That's just the way it rolls.

I didn't realize any were hard to find, but I guess there are a few of the first wave or two that are starting to get hard to find. Though don't be surprised when they include them in a future wave. They've been pretty smart with the balance of releases, this time around. And with Toys R Us having huge stock, many haven't been that hard to find. Any where else, however, I'd a different story.

True, Roller Brawl has become a bit scarce. Fire Kraken too. Like others have said, TRU has the lion's share of inventory. Target, Walmart, and GameStop have a pitiful offering in comparison. Of the more recent releases, Hot Dog and Scratch are not common sights around my area.

You know reading the comments I feel like a dummy picking up and holding in my hand for a good 30 mins a Hot Dog S2- TRU has a buy one get one 40% off thing going and I was gonna get it along with the Scratch I found but put him back. Now I can't find him and I am really kicking myself in the bum for it
In any case I've seen quite a number of Scratch in my TRU and Target. To be honest I'm not sure any beyond maybe S2 Hotdog being hard to find D:

Amazon is your best friend.
Triple packs have been as low as $14.99. Jump on those when you can. I'm noticing the first battle pack is rarely found below $30 at this point online. Anything Swap force with the exception of alt skins should be able to be found at standard price sometime in the next few months, just be persistent. Stores get new stuff all the time.

Riptide, slobber tooth and scorp is usually found at best buy. Wave one is getting hard to find and wave 2 swappers. It's possible tho. You will not have to use ebay. Night shift and boom jet seem to be in targets more then others. The only figure I've not seen in awhile is lightcore grim creeper and legendary LC GC. This game I didn't buy a set to keep in package and one to open. After the first 2 waves I realized it's just not worth it this time around so these are the placesI'vefound those waves at. All I need is a LC Grim creeper. I'm sure he will come back around. I have one but it's opened so if he doesn't it's not a big deal. I'm not using ebay ever. I don't see the point in paint more for something that would be in stores if that person didn't buy 20 of to make money off of.

I started this addiction this past Xmas when I bought the game for my son. Never knew what Skylanders was, but quickly realized how they satisfy my collecting addiction lol. I'm up to 135 or so in 5 months. Some of the base set figures from giants set me back $25-30 (LC Pop Fizz). I'm trying to not have to do that for base SF figures since it's the current game.

Fire Kraken does seem to be scarce. My sister really wanted him, but unfortunately we couldn't find him anywhere around the Utica NY area. None of the stores we checked had him, but we got lucky and found one in a Walmart, however we decided to come back and buy it a couple of days later. Boy what a mistake that was; when I came back a couple of days later it was gone. Not even Amazon had Fire Kraken, at least not coming directly from them... had to order it from eBay.

Wave 1 and 2 guys are still very plentiful at all the Kmarts I've been too. In fact, I've only ever seen a handful of any Wave 3 figures there.
As for a rare one, Star Strike comes to mind. Seems she's starting to get really uncommon, and I've only seen her one other time since launch (and I managed to get that one for my collection)

Single Packs of Pop Fizz and Slobber Tooth seem to have disappeared. Roller Brawl seems generally uncommon. Dune Bug and Prism Break are semi-common. But Hot Dog, Scratch, and Jet Vac? Very rare.
As for the Swappers? None of them seem to be that rare, except for some of the alt-deco guys.

Here in NY
Targets: Have riptides, scorp, triple pack 1 and 2. the double swap packs and adventure pack 1 and battle pack 1. Targets near me haven't gotten anything pass wave 2, thou one target more out of the way recently got some freeze blades and trap shadows (this target last yr was the one moving giants items too when they others seem to give up) So ya 7 targets at wave 2 singles/wave 3 swappers and 1 has wave 3 singles and trap/freeze. Toysrus: Mostly has wave 2/3 singles still, i see some dune bugs, cynders and whirlwind but not much. I haven't seen wave 4 singles at all since they first came out. Trap shadow seems to flood the shelves and freeze blades behind it. One toysrus literally has a wall of trap shadow. Walmart: Has random items as of late, mostly I see trap shadow and stink bomb for swappers, not many freeze blade (i guess he is selling). As for singles its mostly wave 2/3/4 mix but the shelves are bare. Gamestop/Bestbuy: I never go to either of them really, thou I was in bestbuy in early april to use the restroom and all they had was wave 2 and some wave 3 singles. Swappers were wave 3. I have never seen triple pack 5 and 6 yet anywhere, most stores are still at triple 1/2 with some rarely having a few of 3/4. The easter egg themed ones mostly have disappeared, i see punk shock once in awhile 1 here and there. As for wave 1, i havent seen anyting from wave 1 at all in awhile besides the triples. |

I swear you live in the same area I do lol. The GameStop I go to has a lot of wave 3 swappers (The last time I was there was a week after trap shadow came out, so it might be different now.) There's still a good amount of Star Strikes. Since the first month of Swap Force, I haven't seen a single Roller brawl or slobber tooth single. Happy I got them day 1!

In my area, the only figure which took a little while to find was Hyper Beam Prism Break due to there only being one in a box, but even then it was only a couple weeks and I started seeing more. Our TRU stores almost always have at least one of each SF figure. If you really get in a pinch finding Wave 1 guys, I'd suggest looking at Sams Club (if you have one nearby) and look at the boxes on pallets underneath the video game section. Our local Sams Club stores has cases of figures down there, and they only put 4-5 figures out for sale at one time. As a last resort, you can try looking for Wave 1 figures at Walgreens. Walgreens' figures are way over-priced (like $13.49 for a core, and $17.99 for a swapper), but because they don't sell well you can usually find figures from older waves there.

I can honestly say that I've never seen a S2 Hot Dog on the shelves. The only reason I got one was because I happened to walk into TRU when they were opening their last box of Wave 4 figures and I grabbed him out after asking them. I have found every other released character on the pegs except for that one.

Wave 1 and 2 singles seem to be disappearing from my local Walmart (Utica, NY) as they have newer figures coming in. What's funny is that until around April, they were actually behind on the new figures and only had mainly Wave 1/2. Judging from my last visit there which was a couple of nights ago, from what I saw, they now have plenty of Wave 3, and a bit of Wave 4. (at least in the video game section; haven't checked in toys lately) Only things I saw from Wave 1 and 2 were the Spyro/Chill/Zoo Lou pack and the Sprocket/Chop Chop/Scorp pack.

I have been DYING to find Rattle Shake! He's the only Wave 1 swapper I need! (Him and Trap Shadow, but he's less rare...) The rest of Wave 1 seems ok, Free Ranger rarest of those, but then not even THAT rare.
In terms of Wave 2, I see them all at Gamestop every time I go except for Night Shift for some reason....(Maybe he's on a Night Shift Ok...Ok... I'm done) Wave 3 seems most common of them all, I see Spy Rise and Rubble Rouser everytime I go to Gamestop....But not Stink Bomb.... (Don't worry, no stinky joke about him.... SORRY I HAD TOO!) I haven't seen any of Wave 4 recently, but when it first started, I saw Trap Shadow and Freeze Blade galore! Now I can't find a Trap Shadow at all! I got Nitro Freeze Blade instead of the regular since, I was at Target, Target has Swappers at 15 not 16 like Gamestop, and I felt like looking for the Nitro version anyway...(I found him chilling in the back) Done.
