You have to wait 24 hours, we have to wait *counts on fingers* 1325 hours. (While it being WEdnesday, 22nd October, 8pm, WST, Australia)

To answer your last question, its probably because of shipping costs. Maybe it's cheaper to send a new game over seas a month or later after release.
