One time I found a ruler on the ground and I picked it up and showed it to my sister and said "Hey, look, I'm the ruler" and I laughed so hard, I couldn't stop for 10 minutes and it began to physically pain me.

Hmm, I would think it might be a bit longer, or that time would vary between persons and the force of the laughter.

Though yes, I am aware that a person can die from uncontrollably laughing for too long. It is an odd way to go, but very much possible.
