Not sure where to post this, but I've always used this:
to carry my Skylanders. I have reached the limit of it, to where it now won't shut. Any suggestions of carrying cases that may be laying around someone's house (don't want to spend money).

I will post pics of the characters and how they fit in each case.
Something to note. Each of my collection that fit into the number of Sortmasters I listed above, fit in a way that each character has their own slot, instead of just being shoved and rubbed against each other. As for my collection as a whole (my walls), I will have to update that once I get the last Swap Force character, which seems to be Jade Fire Kraken. I will take a pic of all 256 combinations once I get Doom Stone, however. In the meantime, this is how my Skylanders are organized in Sortmasters - Spyro's Adventure: Giants: Swap Force:

A simple glass case works great for the current franchise entry. When done, I retire them into the Skylander Adventure Bags. Bad news though--I'm to 6 of them. But--I don't like to crowd em. Stuff them in a corner in my office and we'll bring down characters (each bag is basically an element) that way. Not perfect, but it's kinda ridiculous showing off 200 skylanders...it...kinda...looks....excessive.

RIP GhostRoaster. He's reanimated as TakeYourLemons but occasionally is resurrected from the beyond when needed. |

I use the same as the OP. I picked up 4 for $10 back last September (Right before SF came out). I already had 3 at the time but needed more to hold for SF when it was released and to hold my Infinity.
I currently use them in this arrangement: 1 = Spyro Adventure 2 = Giants 2 = Swap Force 1 = Infinity 1 = Trap Team (Future) Pictures back when Giants was released: //forum.darkspyro.net/spyro/viewposts.php?topic=69498 Post #9 |

I use those cases myself too. I've fit 74 figures into 3 of them, but I suspect they're more crowded than GhostRoaster's. I think they're a great storage solution if you don't mind them bumping into one another or anything. I've not noticed any of them taking any real cosmetic damage as a result - that said I keep Ninjini entirely separate from all the others as her swords are quite pliable :S

I've always been looking for better storage. We've gotten way to many broken Skylanders by just having a bag/box where they just get thrown in. Poor Stealth Elf has nothing left of her as her head broke off and now her arms have broken off. Our Eye Small broke in half and Jade Flashwing lost a wing (not counting numerous other Skylanders who have broken weapons). My son go the case in the OP for Christmas and I liked it. It had dividers and was soft so it seemed to keep things more protected. It just didn't hold everything. I tried just using it to store Swap Force, variants, and magic items, since they were either the most used or of more value. We had the Adventure Bag to store the rest in. They kept getting broken, in it, though. Now the zipper has broken on it, so my wife tried stuffing everything into the case in the OP. It's not working very well. Now that TRU has marked them down to around $12, I might have to pick up another one or two. I do like GameMaster's setup, though. It's a nice use of the stickers (which I believe we've lost a lot of, by now, anyway).

I have the same boxes as @gm78 for my S:SA figs, but I switched to the Power A tackle boxes (removing the dividers) for S:G & S:SF. Four boxes per game easily fits all figs and they stack and attach like the Sortmaster JR's do. They have been on sale many times for 1/2 price or less.
<shrug> I guess I just got lazy. ;-P -vm

I used the sortmaster ones to. This weekend I grabbed a few of the cases that hold 32 figures because they were 9$ . Not sure how Im going to separate them. I may put giants and swappers in them and leave sortmasters for the regular sized figures.

The Skylander Giants tackle boxes have also been marked down at TRU. I believe they were part of the green clearance as well, if I'm not mistaken. I'm not sure how good they are, but if you like the tackle box idea (they are stackable, too), but want some Skylanders branding, they might be a good option. My wife wanted me to get these because they stack more neatly, but I think I like the soft ones better, plus I think they hold more per dollar than these. But they are nice and stackable, which helps with storage.

I just bought 4 of those. They say they hold 20, but i fit at least thirty in one. They are currently 10 bucks at TRU. The giants dont fit standing up, but all of the corelanders and most swappers can. I dig these boxes.

I thought I'd mention that the best storage solution I've found is to use products designed for ornament storage. I currently have 2 stackable ornament boxes that hold my entire collection from all 3 games. Skylanders are essentially the same size as an ornament, and ornament boxes are already divided into individual sections and are usually soft interior and well protected (for fragile contents) and easily accessible. So it's a perfect fit. Plus you don't have to pay for branding, and during off season they're generally really cheap. I've never had a skylander break or lose paint, and each one has their own spot including the giants.

PurpleSnurple what kind of box do you have? The snap lock ones are expensive.

I got ones kinda like these:
http://www.amazon.com/Honey-Ca...rnament+storage http://www.amazon.com/64-Cell-...rnament+storage But I get them after the season on dirt cheap sale. Not the expensive snap lock ones. But the cushioned multi-level ones. I really like them because you can access all of your most played figures easily and the layers lift out in one piece when you want to play with all of them. The cushioning also prevents any paint damage to the figures, and you can fit 2 figures per spot easily and re-arrange the spacing as needed. |

I've been using a combination of the Sortmaster Jr and the Stanley Double-sided Tool Organizer.
http://cdn4.stanleysupplyservi..._Vd1f27d43_.jpg I'll take some pictures when I get home. Basically all of Skylanders Adventure fits in one Double sided organizer, all the regular sized Skylander Giants fit in one and all the regular sized Swap Force fit in one. I'm using 2 Sortmaster Jr for the Swappable guys and the extra items; Sheep Wreck Island, Sky Diamond, etc. I never found a great solution for the Giants though. I may try to see if they can fit in 2 Sortmaster Jr's too. |

I looked after Christmas and never could find any cheap. Stores don't typically mark down Christmas storage. Eventually they would disappear, but never get marked down. I wonder if they just have a place for them in the back to store until the next year. |

Really Useful Boxes 11Litre with a Large 16 compartment tray holds core figures nicely. I used a Large 6 compartment tray for giants. Will have to figure something out for Trap masters. :/ they're quite expensive and you need dozens to hold a complete collection but I love the way they look and organises figures nicely.

just like the case in the first pic wouldn't a tall book shelf with a clear shower curtain cut to fit the front with some sticky Velcro do the job?
