I already have my SG portal in the Skylands PowerA play set, but I'm wondering what to do with my SSF portal. What are you going to do, and what should I do with the portal from the last game?

Just keep it as a memory, just like what I did.

I would probably just keep it as an extra. As for my SSA/SG wireless portal, it's in my battle arena display. I actually wanted to still use it when I'm not playing SF so I could sit on the couch and have it on the table, switching Skylanders right from there, but I unfortunately don't know where the USB receiver is at this moment I'm currently limited to playing on the floor next to my SF portal, since it won't reach the couch table.

I'll keep them for my Skylanders board game I invented. I haven't posted the rules here, as they are quite lengthy. But, I suppose I could sometime.

my SSA and Giants portals are stored at my parents house, my swap force one will probably join them

Mod them and such. I'm probably just gonna use them as decor and scenery for my skylanders.

If you have a friend that wants to try one of the games, you can loan them an older copy of Skylanders and a portal that works with it.

You can always customise your portals too kids!

We have our corded SG portal(same one as SA only not wireless) that i keep in my gaming cabinet right next to our Swap Force one. I know the swap force one works with all the previous games but it's a "just incase thing" cuz it would rly suck if our SF portal broke and because that one portal broke our kids cant play any of the older games until we get a replacement time thing. We have the 3ds portal for SA as well, that gets used alot so we have that too. We had two other SA/SG portals that I threw away cuz one was wireless and i HATED the wirless SA portal, and we already had one wired SG portal, so we got rid of the second one we had.

I have the old Giants Portal still plugged into the Wii if I choose to play on that (SSA/Giants) and have the SF portal in my 360 for playing Swap Force.
The STT Portal will be on the Wii U. So I will have 3 consoles and 3 portals depending on which game I play! I COULD re-buy Swap Force for the WiiU but it's still expensive at the moment.

I have LOADS of spare SSA portals, I have the Bluetooth one and a wireless one (PS3 is dead now) as well as the 3DS one.

One of them sits on the PC all the times for using my backup App, I backup my figures after play just in case of corruption.
I even have one at work in case I work on my app there and need to test something.

But yeah, I think I have a few too many

I have them stacked in a corner. I at some point plan to put out my SSA figures on display on the shelf so i'll prob put them on a few.

Does anyone know if TFB, VV, or Activision have a recycling program for these things?

Doubtful, but if they did it'd probably be troublesome.

Using older portals for Display or customs or modding seems to be the general idea here, I'm going with it as well.

I imagine there are some collectors who will start wanting every portal.

I kept all my portals and arranged them amongst my skylanders have 8 retired portals. I wish I knew how to post pictures on here from my iPhone my pc took a dump

i just keep them as back up and if i never ever get to use them again. the portals is nice to use as lamps and door stoppers.

I use them for Skylanders Spyro's Adventure, Skylanders Giants and Skylanders Swap Force. I don't like using the Trap Team portal for them.

SF portal will probably just go in the closet. I use a rolling file cabinet with 3 shelves, one for each game. I have my SSA figures in the carrying case... will probably make a display somewhere

I turned all my portals except SSF and STT into Gamestop, SSF is used sometimes too when I don't want to use the bulky STT portal.

SSA Wireless Portal: Centerpiece on the Giants Battle Arena, retired from gaming.
SSF Portal: Still going to be using it with the three first games. The Traptanium Portal doesn't feel right for those, both due to appearance and the extra features which aren't utilized in those games.
SSF Portal Currently: On a table with Knight Mare and Knight Light on it, with Sunscraper Spire and Nightnight Museum on either side of it. I like having the new elements on display.

Though, if the SSF portal fitted properly onto the battle arena, I'd buy a second one for it ;P

So far, I have already traded both of my old portals from SG and SSF for Punch Pop Fizz figures. The Traptanium Portal seems to be way more powerful than the original and secondary ones.

I just used my Swap Force portals today. When I play Swap Force, even if its just to get a hat into Trap Team, I use the old portal. The trap team portal will work with Swap Force but it struggles and has crashed and am not going to risk losing my saved games again so I will use the correct portal with the correct game, well, at least not use the Trap Team one in older games.

I might donate mine to charity. I really have no use for multiple portals. I have to traptanium portals. If I could sell them I would.

Really. Maybe I should hold on to at least my Swap Force portal then.

Step 1. Plug an old phone charger into the wall near your display shelf.
Step 2. Plug the portal into the USB outlet of the phone charger, or anything else with a powered USB outlet.
Step 3. Display your Lightcore characters powered up and illuminated by the portal, without needing a game console nearby!

IIRC this won't work with Xbox portals, but it should work with portals that came with wii or playstation games.

I used my stt portal on ssa sg ssf with no issues no crashing worked perfectly fine while playing ssa I put a trap in the slot and nothing happen didnt read the trap. The only issues I ever had with portals is having the older ones powered up close to it causing it to not scan the figures properly had to move the portals away from the stt portal. When talking to a rep from activision about it he told me if you have the portal your using too close to other portals or the game system. Another thing I seen with the portals is if you plug in a portal and place a inactive 3ds portal next to it place a light core on it it should light up and placing a active portal on the bottom try stacking inactive portals on top of the active one and place a light core on top of it it should light up I can't post videos on here from my iPhone I hope I didn't stray too far off topic

And I have to ask, why not?

It's not really efficient, unless you're gaming over multiple consoles and even then I use my TT portal for PS4, PS3 and Wii U games. Extra portals are a waste of space.
