I don't think Trap Team is going to bring about an influx of new fans/users to the site. It's just another Skylanders game.

It's like saying Madden 25 brought loads of new football fans. It was just another Madden.

Well, for the last 3-4 years or so, users have been flowing to darkspyro and going through a specific pattern of subforum activity. Here's how it wors:

An avid Skylander Fan lurks the skylanders section without an account. This takes from days to weeks.

He/She makes an account and stays in the Skylander Boards, and becomes a member of that community until they get quite bored.

This boredom usually happens in the period between when the last Skylander game came out and the new skylander game is announced, as there's no news to invigorate the user. So the user checks out other parts, then becomes a part of S&N.

They juggle the two for a while, and then mainly stay in S&N and every now and then check the Skylander Boards.

I didn't see a ton of new users here after swap force came out so I don't really think it's that big of a deal

That's pretty much how it worked for me! :0 I "joined" S&N between Spyro's Adventure and Giants.

I don't think that many new people will join, just a lot of people will suddenly remember they have accounts here and come look for info on the games. When the game actually comes out there'll probably be more new users.

Insightful, and you're probably right. I just don't know if this game in particular will bring that many new users. I think that most Skylanders fans who wanted on this site have joined it, and any who aren't already fans of the series probably won't start now.
