Could anyone recommend games to me that are similar to the classic Spyro games?

The two biggest examples I can think of are Banjo-Kazooie/Tooie and Muppet Monster Adventure, both of which I love.
BK seemed to provide inspiration to classic Spyro, and MMA lifted much of its gameplay mechanics, etc. from Spyro.

So, yeah. Let me know what you think. B)

Some other games by Rare, Ltd. for the N64 would fit a similar bill. I'm talking about Donkey Kong 64 and Conker's Bad Fur Day (mind the M rating). In terms of more recent games, you'd be much harder pressed to find classic 3D platformer/adventure games in the same vein as the old Spyro games. I suppose that Jak & Daxter: The Precursor Legacy is also somewhat similar. Jak II and 3 are far different though. Otherwise I'd need to think a lot more.

Can't think of anything else, really. Other than Gex: Enter the Gecko, I don't know.

Okami is nothing like Classic Spyro, it's based on an entirely different concept altogether.

These are just the platformers that I've played, and are similar to that concept of Spyro, most of which are on the PS1.

- Disney/Pixar's Toy Story 2: Buzz Lightyear to the Rescue! (1999; Traveller's Tales, Disney Interactive, Activision)
- Disney's Treasure Planet (2002; Magenta Software, Disney Interactive, Sony Computer Entertainment, Inc.)
- Stuart Little 2 (2002; Magenta Software, Disney Interactive, Sony Computer Entertainment, Inc.)

And possibly Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy, and TY the Tasmanian Tiger, but those two are a little more towards Ratchet & Clank in my opinion.

I was thinking of stating Monsters, Inc. Scare Island, but I think that was more of an action-platformer, and it has a bit of a different concept in it than any of the others.

I remember this game called Scaler, and it reminded me of classic Spyro for the most part. The different characters you play as also reminded me of Year of Dragon, which was fun. smilie
