I'm guessing this will be a minor reveal....major reveal at E3.

I'll be happy as long as we learn the name of the next game, an idea of the new direction it's going and some new characters.

A teaser trailer can probably do most of this--although in my mind an "announcement" has more meaning/depth.

Eon is the most annoying and pointless person ever. I'd understand his inclusion if he was actually made to be a big deal and not just a floating head in the sky. They should have left him in SSA.

Perhaps, Kaos really does take over Skylands! The last game in the Kaos Saga, with a new villain in the 5th Skylanders game.

Based on the Mega Bloks we saw at Toy Fair this year, I'm placing my bets that this new game will involve kart racing in one form or another. Maybe even physical kart toys to place on the portal along with your Skylanders.

I would assume that this was done so they have more control over everything related to the new game; hype, reveals, etc. At Toy Fair they kind of have to share the spotlight so to speak, so this way they can get the information out, and drive out more hype since the event is just for the announcement (and I would assume also just for press people).

This will potentially also drive out any sort of speculation on things, since I would guess everyone related to the franchise will be there so people can ask questions and get direct answers instead of playing telephone with different bloggers and the people on hand at say Toy Fair, telling people different things.

I wouldn't expect too much stuff though. Obviously the name of the game, probably some Skylanders and some sizzle reel footage. E3 will probably be where we see the game in action and more than likely the first time we'll see hands on stuff. (although, I guess its hard to say. They could have hands on time at this announcement, but eh...I'd say it's just a short thing with footage and whatnot)

Considering the "takeover" from Kaos in the invite...I'm putting my money on Kaos Alliance lol.

That invitation seemed to point to the idea that Kaos is trying to recruit portal masters -- Kaos Alliance could be accurate, Spyroflame.

I think I may be the only person who isn't sick of Kaos, that guy cracks me up. I'm not seeing the teamup thing happenning, especially not after the Skylander Boy and Girl invitation. Either way I'm geeked up for the announcement next week.

It seems the villains will be a big focus in this game.

Kaos annoyed me the first game, part of it had to do with the unskippable cutscenes. The second game, I started to "get it" and he became funny. By the time the third teaser trailer rolled around he started being very funny - I still laugh at the "this diaper is filled with EVIIIILLLL!".

He just really seemed like a generic kids level bad guy at first. But then the whole Dr. Evil vibe really clicked in his dialog.

Flynn was also very similar. Annoying at first, but he has this whole "doofus without a clue" thing going on. Part of it has to do with his foil, Cali was a generic "sarcastic" character. Tessa is much better, she hangs on his every word. We already know he is an idiot, we don't need someone to constantly point it out.

How dare you dis-respect Flynn!
He rocks. I love everything that Patrick Warburton voices and it was funny as heck hearing him do Flynn's catchphrase in "The rules of engagement" BOOM!

Am I the only one that liked most of the voices/acting/cut scenes??? It wasn't till the unskipable bits in SF that I got annoyed.
If I hear the "Welcome back to Woodburrow" speech once more I think my head will explode.

i go back to friggen school on Wednesday. activision holds this for scalpers then? [input troll face here]

I agree with the unskippable scenes in Swap Force once you get back to town, especially the ones you have to re-hear after restarting a saved game. I do like how they masked loading with the cutscenes and allow you to skip once the loading is finished (they seem unskippable at first).

And Flynn .. I love Patrick Warburton, some of his best work was on the short-lived live action version of "The Tick". the first episode alone is worth the price of the DVD collection ("Here you are citizen, a steaming hot cup of justice" after beating up the coffee machine). It isn't him, it's the character he plays, it really didn't come into it's own until the third game - again it was more due to his counterpart, not him. Cali just stinks - so generic, I hope given this year's game is back in the hands of TfB they don't give her a big role.

Totally forgot about The Tick--will check it out. Tip--if you visit the person you're supposed to see to continue the game, but select NO to go to the next level, cutscenes and Dufus are eliminated. However, I am NOT able to shut him up after the game's story mode is complete. You'd think after telling me about Eon, Avril and Snagglescale 1 billion times he'd shut up.
