Maths is purely academic, but the higher level you do maths at the more impressive it becomes that you can do it. You could get pretty much any job you wanted with a masters in maths because it shows you're intelligent, not because you know how to work out the circumference of a circle.

Well more like different. I shouldn't say bad. The word changing is so pointless. It only originally was that way because the government was really biased against England. Also, we drive on the right side of the road because... We didn't want to drive on the same side as England.

I don't understand the word changes they are so pointless why not keep the original English spelling?

Because the founders of the country were biased against England. Not a good reason.

Well, mathematics is the purest and most basic form of science out there. It is a basic help tool for physics, chemistry, etc. So therefore learning it is quite important.

The reason why it is important to learn and possess good basic knowledge about mathematics is that it develops one’s own logical thinking and ability to grasp difficult concepts on a whole new angle. It develops your skills at problem solving as well. Math tasks that require proving certain statements such as famous mathematic formulas like Pythagorean theorem etc. evolve logical thinking and skills to seek answers.

I understand that theoretical mathematics can seem pointless since it doesn’t appear to have connection in practical life but that’s wrong thing to say. Eventually almost every type of work requires skills at mathematics. Mathematics is used in so many fields of science etc. such as economics, medicine, architecture, chemistry, physics, biology, etc.

Honestly, unless you're seriously considering a career that requires more than basic math, I don't think people should be forced to take this stuff. People should be able to have more of a choice. Like, if you don't want math classes, you take a class where you learn how to deal with taxes and banking and mortgages... You know, REAL LIFE issues. Instead we're forced to learn crap that 90% of us will probably never use again.
I want to be a film editor, not a bloody math college professor. I had to take at least five math classes to graduate high school... seriously? I'm pretty sure the next time I'll need to use, say, the Pythagorean theorem (besides in a college class maybe), will probably be when my own kids are learning it in school.
