Figured I would introduce myself.... everyone calls me Slo. Started skylanders giants almost 5 months ago.... and the bonding time with my son has been priceless. Weekends are filled driving around on the hunt for skylanders we dont have.

Playing daily with him..... we are best buds and as he calls me his best skylander partner. Not as big of a collection as most... but its ours.

Collection looks spot on to me brother. My daughter is turning 10 tomorrow and we too enjoy the heck out of playing skylanders of any kind. She even loves the mega blocks. Nice meeting you.

Thanks for the welcomes....

I will say its been quite an experience, its just as fun finding them as playing the game. For me, its the excitement it gives my son and seeing it, thats my addiction.

Lol! Loving the McQueen quad in that one picture! Anyway, I'd say that your collection looks to be a good enough size to me smilie I bring them to school and let the kids in my class play with the Skylanders. Some of these kids enjoy just playing with the figures as much or more than they do using them in the game!

Just found the last battlegrounds starter pack in my local area gamestop with royal double trouble among others. Unfortunately the plat treasure chest doesn't register as we own it and found its a known issue on this forum. Also ordered red drill sergeant for my son today.

He really wants a purple wrecking ball but prices are way too high on ebay right now, makes me feel guilty but I just cant bring jyself to paying that much for it.

Yeah my son is wanting one of the many solid color variants but I have put him on a strict 30 dollars per figure. He is still trying to convince me to buy him the blue Bash but he has the other two so I don't know, maybe for his birthday.

The bluetooth portal is worth the price for that pack if you ask me, I just wish they would update the collectors vault to be able to use it.

I wouldn't really waste time on the solid variants for the kids. They enjoy them for a few minutes, then they find out they are just normal figures in the game (maybe level 5, but that's not a big deal). We have several of these special ones (the mass produced ones), and for the most part they sit unused - my youngest sometimes plays with the flocked Stump Smash figure, but not in game.

The blue bash is another one I am trying to get. Theres a guy that wants twenty bucks shipped, so if he still has it, I will grab it.

I agree about the solid variants not being so usefull in gameplay, I am trying to get my son to enjoy the variants that reflect their colors during gameplay. He just happened to see a pic of purple wrecking ball online and hasnt stopped talking about it since.

You could always just try the custom route. If you have some artistic talent, that might be a fun thing to do with your son. You could make your own purple wrecking ball (though the color shift/iridescent paint isn't easy). I assume he would want to open it anyways if you got it, so why worry about it being "authentic"? Buy a few extras on sale and some art supplies, then look up custom action figures techniques on the Internet.

Yeah that may be an option, would rather avoid it all together haha.

GTA1134, what is it about the bluetooth portal that you like? My son has giants and swap for both the ps3 and 3ds, havent looked into the battlegrounds game yet for his ipad.

My 4 year old loves Skylanders and he wants them all. He has the entire family around the world sending them to him. This kid is so addicted to this forum I have to read him "Matteomax" post because he wants to know every time what he says. "Matteomax", u have a fan.. lol.
He enjoys the hunt but drives the family crazy. So to all with Lil ones, have fun and enjoy. ..

The Bluetooth portal simply allows Skylanders Battlegrounds and Lost Islands to import figures without typing in Web Codes. They do not import levels, gold or anything else, nor does it update the figure with anything done in the games (though due to a bug in Lost Islands a while back that was fixed, it would reset them back to level 1), it just unlocks them. It's more fun/easier for kids than typing in the code from the sticker or bringing up the character info in the game to retrieve the code.

For a few figures, codes are easy. If you have a bunch though ...

Like def said he enjoys putting in the guys himself and it's just so much faster than typing them. Also if you do play the game that comes with it you either level faster or get more money when the chest is on the portal. Plus it has the "Skylanders" feel that putting in codes doesn't give.

Hey welcome to the boards. I was at Target the other day and Battlegrounds set is on sale for $19.99. Sadly it doesn't have Royal DT, however you can't beat the price.
