I was asked today by a sixth grader if I supported gay marriage. Naturally, I said yes. His reaction? He told me that was stupid.

What's wrong if someone doesn't support or like people supporting gay marriage?

What are their opinions gonna change? Why do they make people uncomfortable when there's really no reason to?

Does everyone need to agree with you for you to be happy?

Why the **** did you feel like punching a kid for telling you what he thinks? Are you hurt because of his lack of caring for things you presumably care about?

Does what people think really even matter? I'd say the more important question is "is it possible?"

Question everything.

Sure, he didn't end up hitting that kid in the end, so that's good. But what's there to get riled up about?

I agree with Samius, everyone's entitled to their own opinion, him saying 'being gay is stupid' or whatever isn't necessarily wrong in any means, it's an opinion.

Did you ask him why he thinks that's stupid? After all, it's the reasoning that's important here. Also, sometimes people will drop conversations when asked to defend their opinions. ^.^;
