I didn't notice anything written about this, so apologies if it's already been posted somewhere else: Gamestop sent another Skylander email this morning and it says something about an offer that can get you a Skylander for free. Hopefully it's not just them reminding us that we can get our 7th figure free

Gamestop has been crappy this year for Skylanders, haven't bought anything Skylanders related from them since the Dark Starter. I did the Adventure Club thing figuring they would get something in this year first, but nada - not even one, let alone six. But I like reading Game Informer while taking a "time out", so I guess it isn't a total loss.

Knowing their offers it will probably be something like buy $50 of Skylanders stuff, get a single free. Yippee.

Game Informer has good images, covers a wide selection of games and they get the occasional exclusive announcement (Arkham Knight this month). Sure, their reviews are garbage, but what can you expect from a magazine owned by a game retailer. To quote the Lego Movie ... "Everything is awesome ...". It's far better than that Best Buy @Gamer magazine that is now digital only, that thing was basically a holder for the coupons that came in it, and was written by - as far as I can tell - 14 year olds.

I too had a Power Up account until I let it expire this past January. I also got an email today talking about missing out on Skylanders stuff.
To me its a little too late to get me back in. I too was in the same boat as Defpally, getting only the Dark Starter.

Buy 6, get one free is a joke, By the time they got any new ones I already got them from TRU or Walmart.

The buy 6 get the 7th free works very well for me. My son does not get all the figures the moment they come out, usually when a wave hit he can pick one and we go and try and find that one (wave 4 was hot dog). Once we find the one he really wanted he has to earn the rest of them, and just going to a closet you store them at is just not as fun as going to the store and picking your prize as it were. Now this promo does take patience to use fully but ask yourself this, do you really use each and every figure the second it comes out? if the answer is no then you might be able to use the promo(I personally enrolled because the discount price on second hand stuff, he got a couple extra controller at the time we enrolled and that coupled with the free figure will more than pay for the sub fee). Like unreal said the mag is pretty much poo but he loves getting things in the mail addressed to him (that goes away when you start getting bills in the mail). On a plus note I do like getting the newsletter every once in a while, there was one a couple back that had the giants mini's flyer in it and since it was a time sensitive thing I let him grab a couple extra for the free guys. That made his day too.

Also just a thought but if you click on the thing where it calls it an "exclusive figure offer" it brings up a video of dark spyro, now the video link is actually just above that so it might just be bad coding and the clickable part of the photo is just not applied right or it might be a hint that they will be selling those figures in single pack format, just a thought and I'm likely wrong.
