Well, there's a reason Super Mario 64 is the game most loved by critics and gamers when compared to other games in its genre. It came first... and, most importantly, it got the formula right. Other platformers like Spyro and Banjo-Kazooie got the same formula right, which is why they were also loved. They just never got up to the Super Mario 64 level cause Mario 64 was the original for its genre. <.<;

I could see Banjo-Kazooie being up to par with SM64, but not so much the same case with Spyro though.

I don't know, but I remember an old Gamespot topic discussing why characters like Waluigi or other "spin off" character shouldn't be in Smash, and somebody mentioned that the old Donkey Kong game was supposed to be a Popeye game, which Popeye was a spin off of Betty Boop...

So all games are rip offs of... Betty Boop. ???
