So now Spyro and Cynder r married...but what really puzzles me is that if Cynder and Spyro were in the same egg cluster at the beginning, that means that they r brother and sister...so how can they b married?Maybe they will have a baby called Spyndro!

I think the reason why people say that "Cynder is sexy" is because she is the only female in the whole game. IMO, if TLOS had more female characters, they won't be drooling over Cynder (or maybe that could increase the number of Spyro pornography?)
And like the person from fanfiction wrote, DotD's Cynder looks like she has breasts, especially if they personify her. But let's face it, everywhere we go, there are always crazy fans who fall in love with characters, even if they aren't human (ex: the Pokemon Lopunny, how many times people from Gamefaqs forums started calling it sexy -.-) Of course, if Cynder had that same personality as Ember, there might not be many crazy fans >:D So that's my stupid mini rant. ._.

People say Cynder is sexy because she's designed to be sexy. Heck, Sparx said it in ANB. She's got big hips and, in DotD, a big chest. She's curvy and sinuous, which is all some people need.
I will say this. I travel in many less reputable circles. When ANB/TEN came out there were perhaps five pieces of adult Cynder art. As soon as the designs were revealed for DotD, the amount of Cynder erotica went through the roof. Much of it is drawn by people who don't play and don't like the games but they saw Cynder's tarted up DotD model and decided to do some erotica of her, or they were asked by legions of Cyntards (the number of which also increased tenfold when her new design was revealed). |

But seriously everyone, this is just getting stupid; they're just video game characters; they do nothing, mean nothing, and represent nothing. They are just a mix of pixels, code, and voice and sound samples. Hell, the could replace Cynder with a fox, a human, or a freaking building and I could care less. How did Ember fans factor into this? I'll have to say that two of the most obnoxious people I've met in all of Spyro fandom were diehard Ember fanatics, though. So, no, being an Ember fan doesn't make you civil, either.
Everyone makes this argument that "they're just cartoons!" but the people who make that statement seem to not realize the impact that cartoons have on us. We are constantly surrounded by them in our formative years and that does lead to psychological impact. But I don't even have to go that far to explain to y'all why people are attracted to cartoons and game characters. All I have to do is say a single name: Jessica Rabbit. If the world's too big to care about video games, why are you posting on a specific video-game discussion forum, frequently, in a thread that you claim doesn't concern you, BlackDragonAJ? Seems a bit contradictory to me. |

Well, I hate to be the news breaker to you, but that information isn't accurate at all. You see, I just googled Cynder and turned all safe-search settings off on the computer. and after loading 6 different pages still found no Cynder Erotica. So, I'm going to have to disagree with you. I will admit that I like the was she looks better in DoTD, and enough yes, I would push calling her sexy. But then again, I've been working with Dragons for a while in doing Graphic works, (photoshoping) I've also Studied Mythological Dragons for about 14 years, so I've seen a broad Spectrum of images for a dragon, and she is definitely in the top ten of best looking. I wish people would just drop this aspect though. Yeah she looks good, but it's the type of character she is, and her history. I've said it before, people have the ability to change their ways, and nobody critisizes them for it, in fact most are all for it, especially it it was a bad person who turned good. But That's apparently illegal in Gaming as everyone hits all characters like that as a Mary Sue. High power villan to a High-power good guy. there's a saying in justice, "The best cops are the worst Criminals, and Vice-versa." That's all this is. Cynder was a Criminal at first then turned good. Probably because the only real game I ever found any "connections" with was Sim City. That's a game without characters, plot, and character elements. I didn't have to care for one whiny bratty kid hero or just one female adventurer, I had to build cities that housed thousands of faceless citizens, in which even when there was no crime on the streets and education was top notch and the health care was extraordinaire, the city just kept going, where people would both die and be born all the time. Never felt any power from building and ruining cities, nor did I feel like I made an accomplishment or created anything artistic despite all the patterns I planted the cities in; they just were a bunch of pixels, codecs, and data loops, not real cities. I just am one of those people who can't see the connections between the media and myself. Heck, even my own creations I see them as just being scratches on paper or pixels or just well tuned noise to make musically correct sounds. I managed to graduate high school with a 3.8 average and I never watched any of the preschool cartoons or Seasme Street. I managed to grow up without being bored although I never really had any of the latest games (I grew up with a Commodore 64 for a while actually). However, I think the best thing for me was my parents; real, actual people to be there to talk too, even if they aren't the best, that's what counts. (Which is all the real reason why I cam here; to be able to have some kind of conversation with actual human beings through a computer to have discussions that others here wouldn't know to talk about). As for people who never take cartoons seriously, can you blame them? Just look at the garbage of the last 20 years; it's all about toilet humor and pop-culture-for-tweens stupidity that annoys anyone over 30, in which not all 30 year old people into stupid humor. Most of these people want some "dark" elements in a work, you know, like romance, realistic life problems, culture, and serious life and death situations. Name me one decent cartoon that provides that without being either a Dead Baby Comedy or a laugh-track fest and I might be a little nicer on the subject. |

Elazar: Googling Cynder Spyro or something of the sort will net you the nasty stuff. And your argument doesn't invalidate mine in the least. Of course it wouldn't be easy to find the naughty stuff using Google, which searches things based on popularity. Since this fandom is comprised of mostly younger people, the popular images will be the safe ones that they can see with all the blocks their parents set up in place. Like I said, if you had been in the less reputable circles, you would have noticed the massive jump from "no Cynder smut" to "so much smut that even her fans are getting sick of seeing her everywhere"/"Cynder is the new Midna/Krystal/Princess Sally, etc".
I personally see nothing wrong with people being attracted to fictional characters, regardless of their species. Human beings like new and novel things. As long as no one is getting hurt in all this, it doesn't really matter what people like. It's not that Cynder went from bad to good that makes people dislike her. She had a lot of following in TEN, too. I can't speak for everyone, but it was mostly her voice, sudden bad attitude, and jarring personality change in DotD that made me like her less. As for wishing that people would stop fantasizing about her, I'm afraid that's a lost cause. She was designed to appeal and she does appeal. Older fans are going to do with that as they wish. BlackDragonAJ: You definitely got lucky in your upbringing, but you are, alas, a minority in the modern world. Most of us were raised by working parents who hired babysitters who plugged us into the TV all day. The show you are looking for is Disney's "Gargoyles". You might also enjoy "Avtar: the Last Airbender". But steer clear of the fandoms; they will destroy everything. And if you haven't seen "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?" I recommend it highly. |

I think they should bring back some of the old comedy stylings. "The New Red Green Show" keeps some of the spirit. Three stooges, Red skelton, I'm really not sure what to be referencing here. But even back then, They reffered to their Pop culture. It's quite literally history being recorded. I even recently heard a 'Geritol' joke. Cartoons are a part of our history like it or not, And why should video game characters be treated any different? They are in an animated world too. Back to what I was saying before. Why can't Spyro and Cynder be reffered to like Babs and Buster Bunny. (No relation) I mean like they're portrayed as pals, Not as BF/GF. But then again I don't read too much Fanfic.

Well, what they could do is save the mush for whenever Spyro and Cynder are alone from others, and then have them remain as butt kicking duo when in other situations.
The trick to good romance in a story is to not make it a heavy burden on the characters, plus it needs to be incredibly flexible. As for the humor, there's nothing wrong with the "old stuff" like the whole "hello nurse" scheme (which goes all the way back to Vaudeville believe it or not) and things like that, but it's often the audience. Most kids I've met want to see things that are beyond normal realms and often to be gross and something that would make most adults go "is this where we have come too?" I don't mind pop culture references, but come on, there's more than just the President, or just one specific pop star, that you can mess with. What ever happened to ensembles getting picked on? Now that I think of it, the Mother series provides some good mixes of humor and seriousness without boring you to death (and provides some hidden parental bonuses as well CoUgHBluesBrothersistheRunawayFivecOuGh). |

The 'Hello Nurse' Bit originated from the Looney Tunes. They wanted main characters that would be the Looney Tunes for the new age. So they needed a catch phrase.
So "What's up Doc?"~Bugs Bunny, was then taken apart and changed. What's up is an inroduction, Thus Hello. And Doc, Well the next in line was Nurse. Put it together. "Hello Nurse!"~The Warners. Now that origionated back to the beginning of WB animation. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ But I really think they need to cut the romance. That will kill alot of the obsured fanfic. A slight flirt at the end left a 'bitter taste in the mouth' if you will. It's not exactically the last image you want in your mind.

I say cut the romance not only for the sake of fanfics (Yes, I went and looked...but didn't read anything obscure, descriptions were bad enough), but also for the sake of the game. The romance seems rather suddenly shoved in your face at the end, even though it was pretty obvious, with this culture and all, that there would be a love interest. I just don't like the fact that nearly every game on the market now has a love interest (except for most shooters). I mean, romance works for some games, but it really kills others, such as DotD. Not that the game wasn't already dead prior.

Nope, Vaudeville did it first. Read here: http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/HelloNurse, the animaniacs just named the trope, that's all. It's older than you think. Now as for the romance, you can keep it in. I'm pretty sure the company isn't that stupid, and besides, it's going to happen sooner or later. Of course, Don Bluth would be a good example of how you can make a romance situation work in a rather goofy setting. |

I loved TEN Cynder too, at least her attitude didn't suddenly change and she still felt bad about what she did while under Malefor's influence. DotD Cynder didn't show any signs of this, instead she suddenly became sassy and showed no signs of the lingering guilt she had from TEN.
