I hear ya. Nostalgia is a powerful drug. It’s probably the reason why I keep returning here. It’s almost like this place is in my veins. It reminds me of a time when I was happy.

That being said, I’m currently on leave from work due to burning out again and having time off doesn’t seem to be as relieving as it’s supposed to. I’m exhausted no matter where I am.

In my case, I think depression, anxiety and the recent diagnosis of primary hyperparathyroidism (PHPT) are all significant factors contributing to the way I’m feeling. The first two I’ve been struggling with for years and PHPT can only be cured by surgery which isn’t considered urgent even though it makes the preceding conditions worse. Not to mention this is the third time in four years that I’ve had to take sick leave for burn out. I’ve tried so many times explaining how tired, stressed and done with it all, but I find most doctors are dismissive of my symptoms.
